There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – exhibitions, parties, live music, festivals and more – but here is our pick of the bunch:

Friday

4:30pm - 9pm: Woody Weekend at the Bem Cinema

The films of Woody Allen screen all weekend at the Bem Cinema. Classics like Vicky Christina Barcalona, Husbands and WivesA Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy and much more Woody magic will be featured with original English audio and Hungarian subtitles on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

7pm - 11pm: Tony Hadley at Dürer Kert

Eighties icon Tony Hadley performs at the Dürer Kert on Friday. The British pop singer and songwriter and former lead singer of Spandau Ballet comes to the Hungarian capital as part of a promo tour for his new album, but besides new songs, he'll sing some old favorites, too.

8:30pm - 10:30pm: Lady Bird at the Művész Cinema

On Friday and Saturday the Művész Cinema holds pre-premier screenings of  Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, Lady Bird. The five-time Oscar nominee film is a coming of age story telling the stormy relationship of a mother and her teenage daughter. The movie is a mirror of the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us and the unmatched beauty of the place that we call home. 11pm - 5am: Bonita Fridays at Yellow Budapest

Every Friday, bar/club Yellow echoes with hot Latin reggaeton tunes until 3am, while afterwards everything from R&B to hip hop and new core entices partygoers to the dance floor. Hungary's best Latin duo, Latin Combo, also fills Yellow with live music beforehand.

Saturday

Noon - midnight: Gourmet Burger and Beer at Deák St. Kitchen

From February 24th onwards, this superb Budapest restaurant serves up harmonious combinations of delicious Hungarian-influenced burgers paired with local craft beers every Saturday. From “The Budapest” of a paprika bun, Angus tenderloin patty, foie gras, Hungarian ratatouille, green pea pure and Shitake mushroom to “The Mangalica” made up of roast onion bun, mangalica patty, pickled and fermented cucumber and wasabi sour cream, many exciting flavor combinations await.

1pm - 5pm: DownMall at Árkád Shopping Center

Adrenaline addicts can watch bikers speed down escalators and perform impossible tricks in tight spaces at a tournament for the European Championship of extreme indoor cyclingDownMall, comes to the Árkád Shopping Center in Budapest.

6pm - 2am: Ball of Hungarian Wines at the Corinthia Hotel

Budapest’s beautiful Corinthia Hotel welcomes an elite crowd to sample 100 of the country’s finest reds, whites and sparkling wines from five of Hungary’s diverse distinguished wine regions on Saturday. In addition to a top-notch selection, gourmet delicacies, live music and dance shows also entertain crowds. More details

11pm - 5am: Dj Gozth HipHop, RnB, Trap, Twerk all night long at VOLT Lokál

On Saturday DJ Gozth shakes the walls of VOLT Lokál with an all-nighter set mixing the greatest hits of A$AP Mob, Cardi B, Chris Brown, Drake, Future, G-Eazy, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Post Malone, Rae Sremmurd, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Tyga and Wiz Khalifa. This party is free.

Sunday

10am - 6pm: WAMP Design Fair at Millenáris

WAMP – a beloved design fair in Budapest – kickstarts the year on Sunday, presenting the latest products by Hungarian designers. The aim this time is to refresh your wardrobe for the spring, so countless clothes, bags, accessories and a bunch of stunning small-batch items await fashionistas, who can also get hair and makeup tips. 11:30am-3:30pm: Classic Hungarian Lunch at Anker Klub

Experience the timeless tradition of a classic Hungarian lunch on Sundays through February at the Anker Klub. Sunday lunch at a Hungarian home is a heartwarming scene: families sit together to eat chicken soup, fried meat with mashed potatoes and some kind of dessert, and even when you’re absolutely full, grandma puts another plateful in front of you. 3pm - 7pm: Clothes exchange at Kelet Café

We all have heaps of clothes, accessories, and other trinkets that we are never going to wear anymore, yet they are too nice to be thrown out. On Sunday, you can bring them to this cool café and swap them with other people. Once there, we recommend you try their croissants, they're super tasty.
