Good news for locals and visitors alike: from 16 September, the Budapest Card – the city’s official tourist pass – is now available directly from the more than 300 BKK ticket machines around the capital.

What does the Budapest Card include?

The Budapest Card gives you unlimited travel on all public transport during its validity, plus more than 30 free entries and over 50 discounts – including tickets for Budapest’s famous baths, museums, sightseeing tours and even Danube cruises.

The card is available for 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours, and there’s also a 72-hour Plus version which includes extra perks, such as discounted entry to further attractions. Prices and benefits remain the same as before – the only change is that it’s now easier to purchase.

Where can you get it?

In addition to the main sales point at Deák Ferenc Square, you can now pick up your Budapest Card at any BKK ticket machine across the city – making it much more convenient for both foreign and domestic travellers. After purchase, the card is valid from the start date and time printed on it.

Why is it useful?

The Budapest Card is perfect if you’re planning to explore the city without limits: hop on trams, buses and the metro, visit museums, dip into historic baths, or join sightseeing tours – all with one pass in your pocket.
