Kelet Café and Gallery
We can find Kelet Café and Gallery in Bartók Béla Street. Although the place is not a bookstore by category, even a small library could be envious of the 5-6000 volumes on the shelves. These shelves look good on one hand, while on the other hand, function as a self-service library: guests can exchange any book on them for their own, so the “stock” changes by the day.
The coffee is supplied by Casino Mocca, the Dutch premium cocoa and chocolate is provided by Tibor Szántó, the sweets are brought by Édes Sári, and the beers are from two small Czech breweries. The menu also includes grilled sandwiches and Eastern platters. The latter include green curry liptauer, spicy peanut butter, chutney, Indonesian pickles and sourdough bread. We can describe the sandwiches by key words only: spicy Indonesian peanut butter, egg curry masala, smoked catfish, coriander sauce, and arugula. The pleasant interior is inviting enough in itself, but it is also accompanied by a very serious selection, friendly owners and homely service.
