Based on a book by László Krasznahorkai, the film follows members of a small, defunct agricultural collective living in squalor after the fall of Communism. When there’s a large windfall, some secretly conspire to take off with the loot until a mysterious character comes back from the dead, altering the course of everyone’s lives.
