6pm -Plastic Waste Labyrinth at Madách tér
Calling for action by raising attention to environmental pollution, an art installation is being set up on Madách tér on Friday. A labyrinth made of massive cubes of plastic waste will be the centrepiece of the square, and inside, the sound of sea waves will help remember how seriously this issue affects our oceans. The installation will stay in place until Sunday night.
6pm - Season Closing at Fellini
A classic riverside summertime hangout on the Római embankment in Óbuda, Fellini puts away its colourful deckchairs for the colder months. Live music features, with four concerts on Friday and Sunday, with delicious drinks flowing, bidding a proper seasonal farewell to Fellini.
7pm - : Oktoberfest at Kincsem Park
Between Friday and Sunday guests at Budapest's main racecourse can enjoy a Bavarian-style blowout while exciting horse and greyhound races entertain the lively crowd. Barrels of beer, savoury sausages, grilled chicken, roasted pork trotters, Bavarian sausages, pretzels and meaty morsels await, while barmaids in traditional garb serve Steins. A little yodelayheehoo is provided by live music late into the night.
7pm - : Recirquel Contemporary Circus Company: Paris de Nuit at Müpa
This vibrant performance takes the audience to the decadent but delightful world of Paris during the 1930s, and unveils the marginal lives of prostitutes, peddlers and secret lovers. Stunning circus artists, musicians and dancers evoke the lusty atmosphere of bygone Paris nights, providing an up-close experience to the audience seated on and around the stage. A must-see! The performance takes place several times over the weekend.
7pm - : Ráday Corso Street Festival on Ráday utca
Over the weekend, Budapest's restaurant hub, Ráday utca, hosts a mini street festival. Gastronomy outlets lining Ráday and nearby streets in District IX join forces to offer exotic drinks and dishes to guests. This multi-cultural event is spiced up with a flea market, Latin American rhythms and jazz.
Saturday
11am - 3pm: Related by Sister Languages - Estonian-Hungarian Contemporary Exhibition at the Ludwig Museum
This new exhibition at the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art investigates where Northern and Baltic traditions meet Central-Eastern European history in the 21st century through opposing artworks by Estonian and Hungarian artists.
7pm - : Damien Rice at the MOMkult Cultural Centre
Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice melts hearts with his soft voice and beautiful songs. On Saturday, he comes to Budapest. Rice’s first single, The Blower’s Daughter, was a top 20 hit when it appeared in 2001, and his popularity has not waned since. His first concert in Hungary will take place at the MOMkult Cultural Centre.
8pm - 5am: Dub FX at Barba Negra Music Klub
Wonderful Dub FX (aka Benjamin Stanford) is a worldwide street performer and studio recording artist from Melbourne. His trademark is creating rich live music using only his own performance, aided by live looping and effects pedals combined with his voice. He creates intricate hip hop, reggae and drum and bass rhythms. On Saturday he is appearing at the Barba Negra Music Klub.
9pm - : Buddha-Bar Budapest Birthday at Buddha-Bar
On Saturday, Buddha-Bar Budapest celebrates its sixth birthday with live music, special events and several surprises. The special guest of the night will be DJ Papa, the number one mix master at Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo, bringing a unique casino atmosphere to Budapest.
11pm-: Linkin Park Tribute Concert - Piknik Park at Dürer Kert
A localtribute band of the iconic American rock group play a gig at the Dürer Kert on Saturday. Come and let your heart beat to the rhythm of old and new melodies by Linkin Park, remembering dearest Chazy Chaz.
Sunday

11am - 7pm: Day of Coffee at Akvárium Klub
On Sunday, the sweet scent of java will fill Erzsébet tér for the Day of Coffee. Altogether ten exhibitors await visitors, with all kinds of coffees from classic Italian to cool cocktails. Workshops, talks and a barista jam session make the event complete.
5pm - 6:30pm: The Red Turtle at the Bem Cinema
This colourful animation film for adults has been captivating audiences worldwide. Through the story of a man shipwrecked on a tropical island inhabited by turtles, crabs and birds, thissilent film recounts the milestones in the life of any human being.
8pm - : Dena at A38
One of the liveliest artists in contemporary R&B-pop, Berlin-based Dena takes the stage on Sunday at one of Budapest's coolest hangouts, the A38 Ship.
