Every weekend, we bring together all of the important happenings taking place in Hungary’s capital, so you can plan ahead. Whether you would like to shake it to the coolest beats, immerse yourself in culture or give in to guilty pleasures, we present a bunch of events for the upcoming days. Friday

4pm - IX. Food Truck Show at Kincsem Park

An amazing alfresco food festival, the Food Truck Show is being held between Friday and Sunday at Kincsem Park. Juicy burgers, hearty and heavenly sausage cones, vegan bites and many other street food treats await visitors over the three days, while greyhound and horse races provide the entertainment.

8pm - : Jazz Spring at Müpa

Between Friday and Sunday, Müpa fills with fantastic jazz beats. Performers include singer-bassist Ida Nielsen and her band, Tia Fuller and Jane Monheit, in collaboration with the Budapest Jazz Orchestra. For more information and tickets, visit the Müpa website.

11pm - 6am: Butch at Akvárium Klub

As the German electro DJ says: "I like to make people dance and have fun. I’m the captain of the spaceship and I’m driving it. People who come to the show get in the ship – and I take them on a trip. To get into the spaceship, they leave their physical body at the door. You must switch off the real world and switch off the mind. I will do the rest”. This is happening on Friday.

11pm - : Jensen Interceptor at LÄRM

Aussie electro fiend Jensen Interceptor, one of the most active producers on the current electro scene, plays LÄRM on Friday night.

11pm - 5am: Los Santos Party at the A38 Ship

Rock the boat on Friday! Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, 2Pac, Eminem, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and many others fly you back in time with the best hits of the Eighties, Nineties and Noughties at the A38 Ship.

Saturday

9am - : Budapest100 at various venues

On Saturday and Sunday, keep your eyes peeled for the Budapest100 banners mounted on many of the city’s century-old buildings. For this popular event, several urban sites, generally closed to the public, welcome visitors with themed activities, many suitable for an English-speaking audience. As in previous years, the event is organised around a specific subject – this year, the Bauhaus centenary is the focus.

10am - : CityMatiné at Palatinus

The pioneer of daytime parties, CityMatiné is back in action! The open-air event series takes place at the Palatinus lido, awaiting visitors with DJs, cool drinks and a fantastic festival atmosphere.

Noon - : First Beer & Burger at FIRST Craft Beer Bar

The teams at FIRST Beer Brewery and Burger Market join forces to organise a meat feast with freshly poured craft beers. Besides devouring burgers, guests can also participate in pub sport championships, such as table football, darts and beer pong.

4:30pm - : Star Wars at the Bem Cinema

May the fourth be with you! May 4th is Star Wars Day, which the Bem Cinema celebrates by screening the fourth Star Wars movie, Episode IV: A New Hope, three times on Saturday. With original English audio and Hungarian subtitles.

10pm - 4am: Freddie Mercury Night at Budapest Park

A night filled with top Queen songs commemorates the iconic singer, while tracks by contemporaries such as the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd will also feature.

Sunday

10am - 5pm: Dog Festival at Olimpia Park

This festival is the biggest free dog-related event in the city, held at Olimpia Park. The aim is to raise awareness about responsible animal ownership and to promote the adoption of homeless pets with the collaboration of dedicated shelters. The festival features fun activities such as pet & owner photo shoots and live music.

10:30am - : Indian Brunch at Élesztőház

On Sunday, a special brunch takes place at Élesztőház, showcasing the spicy delicacies of north India. As a starter, you can enjoy the mixed vegetable bhajis and crispy papadums with a variety of chutneys. Chickpea curry, chicken kadhai, aloo paratha (stuffed Indian flatbread) will follow, accompanied by a creamy condiment of raita, vegetable salad and fresh fruit. A refreshing dessert concludes the meal. The event is held in English and Hungarian by culinary professionals Neera and Karolina. 11am - 7pm: WAMP Design Market at Erzsébet tér

WAMP is a regular community event and design fair, a meeting place for creative and trendsetting young talent. The largest market of its kind in Hungary, WAMP features clothes, jewellery, items of interior design, clothes, stationery, accessories and much more.
