A current exhibition at Budapest’s Ludwig Museum focuses on the 20 years that Hungarian-born artist Sam Havadtoy spent as companion to Yoko Ono. The motif of ‘Knight Move – Sam Havadtoy in New York’ is chess, which he played three times a day with the former wife of the late Beatle.
5pm – 10pm: Friday at the A38 Ship
When you just want to chill out under the clouds, drum ‘n’ bass is the best for some background music. And the DJs of Bladerunnaz are ambassadors of the genre in Budapest. For three more weekends this summer, Liberty Bridge is all yours! This focal historic span will once again become a car-free public hangout attracting huge crowds. 10am - : Bass Camp at Vituki Beach
Lovers of bass music unite! On July 21stBass Camp Festival dedicates the day to the different genres of bass music such as drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep, grime, UK garage, UK funky, hip hop and many more. The one-day mini festival fills multiple stages at Vituki Beach, where you can also plunge into the pool to cool off after the concerts. The premier pioneer ofdaytime parties in Budapest, CityMatiné entices everyone outside for a party fuelled by electronic music and cool cocktails.
2pm – 4:30pm: Street Art Tour at Dohány Street Synagogue
Every summer, local and international artists flock to Budapest to beautify drab walls around town with mesmerising murals within the framework of the Színes Város Festival. On Saturday, its curator is laying on a tour that will reveal 18 different murals, six of which will be gone by the end of the season. After finding out about the history and background of each oversized work, you can finish off with a free drink at top restaurant Dobrumba.

9am-2pm: Szimpla Farmers’ Breakfast at Szimpla
