September means you can still party outside in Budapest – but not for too much longer. Here we round up the top alfresco destinations and concert venues where you can shake it outdoors for a week or two more at least.

1/9

BARBA NEGRA TRACK

With a commitment to rock music, metal and alternative genres, the Barba Negra Track will stick to the script for a couple more weeks at least. Hungarian act Alvin és a Mókusok play a birthday concert and the season-closing show on 21 September, before which the revered Quimby, Bikini and Ossian all take the stage.

District XI. Neumann János utca 2

Season closes: 21 September

2/9

BUDAPEST PARK

The curtain is drawn over the 2019 season at Budapest Park with the traditional Closing Picnic from 26 to 28 September. Over the three days, you’ll be able to catch 30Y, Margaret Island and Brains, before the grand finale on the last night, the Necc Party.

District XI. Soroksári út 60

Season closes: 28 September

3/9

FELLINI RÓMAI KULTÚRBISZTRÓ

As always, one of the top spots of the summer was the Fellini Római Kultúrbisztró, a beachside venue comprising a bar/caravan, small stage and deckchairs ranged around the lap of the Danube. The location is way up in Óbuda – take the HÉV train from Batthyány tér to Rómaifürdő, walk a good five minutes down Emőd utca and hang a left – don’t forget the mosquito spray. Upcoming acts include Bulcsú Babarci, the Zsanett Pápai Trio, and the duo of András Jász and Zsolt Barta. Closing night is 29 September when, as a special show, resident musicians the Fellini Family will play a few numbers.

District III. Kossuth Lajos üdölőpart 5

Season closes: 29 September

4/9

KABIN

Waterfront Kabin really pushes the boat out when it comes to extending summer. Here on Népsziget island, a short walk over the bridge from Újpest-városkapu station on the M3 metro line, a laid-back vibe underscores a busy music agenda until mid October, weather permitting. Already confirmed are an Ethno Jazz Night featuring the Gregorian Pázmándi Trio, the Summer Never Ends party by Cream Of Sounds and a drum & bass party or two courtesy of The Hive.

District XIII. Népsziget út 727

Season closes: mid October

5/9

KERTEM

Kertem (‘My Garden’) is an atmospheric venue in the heart of City Park where they find it difficult to let go of summer. Events here are planned until the end of September. As evenings get slightly chillier, DP Morgan, Suefo and Nairobi will be spinning tunes.

District XIV. Olof Palma sétány 1

Season closes: end of September

6/9

KOBUCI KERT

Before hibernation sets in, Kobuci Kert up in Óbuda is going for it in a big way, staging a show of some kind almost every evening until 28 September. Treading the boards will be the Kerekes Band, Veronika Harcsa & Bálint Gyémánt, Kaukázus, Parno Graszt, while esteemed combo Kiscsillag, featuring legendary songsmith András Lovasi, provide a suitable farewell to summer.

District III. Fő tér 1

Season closes: 28 September

7/9

PONTOON

Of course, busy, downtown Pontoon cannot be left out where outdoor fun is concerned. Before the seasonal farewell to its great parties and memorable sunsets, nightlife organisers mhmm, Nightdrive and Alcázar will provide you with plenty of opportunity to dance. Concerts include Manaky and Nunki Bay Starship, while the Monday Sessions feature Sauropoda and JÜ.

District V. id Antall József rakpart 1

Season closes: 30 September

8/9

RAQPART

Adjacent Raqpart will be open until the last days of September, providing a slightly more mainstream alternative to Pontoon which also runs all month. Lined up here are Latin parties and dance shows, which even the chillier weather can’t put the dampers on.

District V. Lánchíd pesti hídfő

Season closes: 30 September
