Madame Tussauds Budapest, the new attraction of the Hungarian capital, is opening on May 25th 2023. Have a sneak peek with us.
The renowned waxwork museum Madame Tussauds has established its 24th unit in Budapest. And the opening date is right around the corner: you can hang out with famous people in the Palazzo Dorottya from May 25th. The museum revealed the wax figure of Pope Francis upon his recent visit to Budapest. But now the curtain has been raised, and we learned the identity of all 51 Hollywood celebrities, artists, singers, sports stars, and historic figures awaiting selfies at Madame Tussauds Budapest. We toured the place before the official opening tomorrow, and you can have a sneak peek.
The details of the stars (such as Lionel Messi, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and 17 Hungarian figures) are pretty impressive, which is no wonder: approximately 20 artists worked on each figure in a workshop near London. The creation of every one lasted 3-4 months, with only the hair taking 6 weeks to place. The installations surrounding the figures are works of Hungarian craftsmen, such as stained-glass artists, architectural sculptors, woodcarvers, ornamental tinsmiths, gilding specialists, and film and theatre set designers.
Among the world leaders, you can see Pope Francis and Elisabeth II. A fun fact is that there is only one other Madame Tussauds in the world where you can marvel at the figure of the head of the Catholic Church: New York.
