Alongside its global ranking, the Italian 50 Top Pizza team also puts together separate lists for different continents, with its experts visiting and reviewing every pizzeria anonymously. There are also different categories within the rankings. To put it in more familiar foodie terms, the distinction is somewhat similar to the difference between Michelin-starred and Michelin-recommended restaurants.
Unfortunately, no Hungarian pizzeria made the global top 50 this year. In the European ranking, however, Belli di Mamma climbed one place from last year to 40th, once again earning a spot among the continent's best. Two other Budapest pizzerias, Forni di Napoli and gluten-free Glutilino, were also recognised in the Excellent Pizzerias category. Glutilino's inclusion is particularly noteworthy, as gluten-free pizzerias are not judged separately.
