Night of Zoos
Seal shows, elephant training and fire jugglers,
there are all kinds of attractions when the city's menageries, including Budapest Zoo and Budakeszi Wildlife Park, take part in Friday evening's
nationwide Night of Zoos. Along with animal feeding, at Budakeszi, you can also get to know the wonderful world of ants and nocturnal insects, with tests of courage involved! Events

Historical Tales with GIOLI & ASSIA
Italian
musician-producer Giorgia Giolí Lipari and
singer-songwriter-DJ Assia Nania have been
making music together for several years. Its complexity is spiced up by
the exciting choice of locations for their music
videos. They have already filmed in the ruins of the medieval Andromeda Theatre and in the craters of active volcanoes. One of today's most exciting live electronica duos will now perform at
the renovated Lion's Courtyard in Buda Castle. Things kick into gear from 6pm. More

Óbuda Craft Beer Festival
On
the main square of picturesque Óbuda, local artisanal breweries present
their beers and reveal the secrets of their craft. On stage,
acts such as Supernem and the Ivan&The Parazol acoustic duo tread the
boards. A playhouse awaits children in
the Esérnyos courtyard, with a fire juggling show by
the Firebirds and a participatory recycling workshop both

HopTop Birthday at
Főzdepark
The
local HopTop Brewery celebrates its sixth birthday in style on Saturday with lots of
beer and communal events. You can take part in a brewery visit, taste a Locked Down cocktail, enjoy
a burger courtesy of the Billog Food Truck,
and in the evening sip special beers to
the backdrop of live music. This year, the dress code is pink to match the Tropical Swinger Club label. Admission free. More details
Budapest Roller Disco
On the
last Saturday of August, a roller disco allows
newcomers to learn the steps and the more experienced spinners to hit the floor
as DJ Suhaid and DJ Husky Joe spin
tunes. A light show brightens up the surrounding
buildings. The event is free, and organisers

St Stephen’s Day fireworks
Held over from last Saturday, 20 August, the firework party to celebrate
the national holiday of St Stephen’s Day will now take place this Saturday at
the usual time of 9pm. The spectacular
half-hour show takes place in Hungary's
national colours of red, white and green, shot from the quays and
the river roughly between Liberty Bridge and Margaret
Bridge. Whether you position yourself on the Buda or Pest embankment, you should have
a great view, but bear in mind that it gets extremely busy with thousands of
bystanders watching. If you'd like to climb higher, Gellért Hill, Buda Castle and Fishermen's Bastion are always good options. More details

Makers’ Market Budapest
Makers' Market Budapest is a monthly fair where the shoppers can find unique designer products and meet their creators. – Monet, Gauguin, Pissarro in the Gallery
This guided tour in English continues a series of
presentations at the Hungarian National
Gallery focusing on art after 1800s. The 19th-century rooms, running from late Romanticism
through to Symbolism, are where you'll find works by Monet, Gauguin, Pissarro and their contemporaries, in the
spotlight for this hour-long visit. Tickets are 1,500 forints on
top of the standard admission fee to the

Hungarian Jazz Day
On Sunday,
you can celebrate Hungarian Jazz Day with
several concerts and performances at the House of Hungarian Music.
This one-day event begins with an informative talk in Hungarian about how jazz
works, followed by shows by the Sárközi Dina Quintet,
the Dresch Quartet and, to finish the evening, Attila László's Fusion Circus. More details
Tash Sultana
Still in
her twenties, Aussie Tash Sultana is
an incredible talent. In her music, you can find lo-fi sound as well as R&B
flavours and psychedelic guitar riffs. She loves collaborating with other
musicians – such as Milky Chance and Matt Corby – and now she’s bringing a full
live band to Europe. You can experience her magical sounds on Sunday at Budapest Park.
