A new video has just been created, showing the highlights of Budapest to everyone coming here to see Euro matches taking places at a near full Puskás Aréna. Tomorrow, Saturday, 19 June, on 23 and 27 June, football fans from France, Portugal and almost certainly Holland fly into town, many for the first time. It’s hoped that their experience here will give local tourism a much-needed reboot.

The new two-minute clip shows Vajdahunyad Castle and the Fan Zone in City Park, Heroes’ Square, Parliament, the Fishermen’s Bastion, the Danube embankment, the Széchenyi Baths and Liberty Bridge. With football in mind, the film also takes in the huge 6:3 mural in Rumbach Sebestyén utca near the Great Synagogue, celebrating Hungary’s famous victory over England in 1953.
