11am - : Opening of Vörösmarty Square Christmas Fair at Vörösmarty Square
Listed among the ten prettiest Christmas markets in Europe, Budapest’s iconic fair in Vörösmarty Square opens on Friday. With every vendor carefully chosen for providing top-quality handmade products, it is one of the best places to purchase classic Hungarian gifts like folk-music instruments, decorative baskets and intricate ceramics. Amid the 1,200-square-meter gastro terrace, visitors can sample regional delicacies such as goulash, mulled wine and chimney cake.
6pm - : St. Martin’s Day Festival at Danubius Hotel Gellért

11pm - 5am: Selected Sounds: Amnesia Scanner + Moiré at Toldi Klub
Downtown’s beloved art-house film theater, Toldi, turns into a popular meeting spot for young people in the evenings. On Friday, Berlin electronic duo Amnesia Scanner and shadowy Londoner Moiré entertain crowds here.
11:30pm - 5am: Budapest Trap Squad at A38
Budapest Trap Squad is a monthly party series that gathers the city’s coolest DJs together to fill A38 with their deepest bass music, from trap through hybrid and dubstep to bass house. This Friday, Dublic, DJ Nara, B'Andre, Skrude, Sammie Beats, Bevild, Myamo and Slanki all spin discs late into the night.
Saturday

10am - 1pm: Jazz Breakfast at Mazel Tov
The Tel-Aviv-inspired brunch menu at Mazel Tov debuted recently, which you can sample on Saturdays and Sundays amid terrific jazz tunes. Traditional shakshuka with poached egg, mallawach pancake with honey and pistachio, smoothies, and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices will all be served while jazz formations entertain guests over the weekend.
1pm - 4pm: Szimpla Bringa at Szimpla Kert
Szimpla Bringa, an eco-friendly design fair, awaits everyone who’d like to sell or buy bicycles, tools and accessories, as well as discover the remarkable world of recycled items. Pop into this eco-friendly fair, browse through the best bikes and equipment, and meet creative designers. More details
3pm - 8pm: Taxituri Charity Second-hand Fair at Auróra
On Saturday, Aurora and Charity Taxi will hold their first independent charity fair where you can find the coolest, most extravagant and highest quality second-hand pieces for really low prices. All proceedings will be going to the operation of Charity Taxi, an organization that delivers donations straight from your home to those in need.
7:30pm - 10:30pm: Cinemusic 2017 at the Palace of Arts
On Saturday evening, the greatest film scores from classics to new hits fill the Palace of Arts, performed by the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok led by Hungarian conductor Gábor Hollerung. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Wars, and the event will also commemorate Roger Moore, considered by many to be the greatest James Bond of them all.
8pm - 10:30pm: Fight Club at the Bem Cinema “Welcome to Fight Club. The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: you DO NOT talk about Fight Club! Third rule of Fight Club: if someone yells “stop!”, goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule: one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: the fights are bare knuckle. No shirt, no shoes, no weapons. Seventh rule: fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.” Watch this darkly comic classic again on Saturday with original English audio and Hungarian subtitles at the Bem Cinema.
Sunday

10am - 6pm: Slow Gastro Market at Anker’t
Slow Gastro Market aims to support a health-conscious and sustainable lifestyle by presenting various treats made naturally of high-quality ingredients. Friendly vendors offering syrups, teas, sausages, cheeses, yogurts, cakes, pies, dips, quail eggs, chutneys, honeys and all kinds of tasty bites man the stalls at Anker’t on Sunday.
4pm:Beginner Boogie-Woogie Workshop at Oktogon Dance Center Boogie-woogie – a form of swing dance – is an unchoreographed competition dance, and one of the freest dance styles of all. Its essence lies in improvisation, as a true boogie dancer interprets the mood of the music with their own personality. Oktogon Dance Center launches a series of boogie-woogie crash courses on Sunday, which will be held over eight weeks. There are no bad moves here, as you can blame it all on the boogie!
7pm – 9pm: Recirquel Contemporary Circus Company: The Naked Clown at the Palace of Arts
Recirquel Contemporary Circus Company is an ensemble of 11 talented performers who aim to introduce a new genre of circus to the public. In their spectacle titled The Naked Clown, the clown’s life is coming to an end; he is about to enter the unknown, but before his final curtain call he needs to leave his ruffle behind, taking the last steps bearing only with the nakedness of his soul. In this production, the disguise is removed both literally and figuratively, as the performers invite the audience on an unusual inner journey into imaginary realms. The play is in Hungarian with English surtitles.
