1/13

Klassz Étterem és Borbolt (Closed)

Hey you, come here if you like wine. Good wine. You don’t have to be like an expert, just like it. Or if you don’t, then your partner. Otherwise it’s a no-go. ‘Cause this is a wine place, where, by the way, you can have a fine meal, too. If you’re open to the fusion of tradition and novel things but are not into exaggerations and are rather filled with muted, lovely feelings than crazy passion, this place will be just peachy for you. And the couple of glasses you’ll be having will awaken your passion anyways.

2/13

Hajós 16

Mostly for the younger generation, and the wickedest might as well turn up the volume on the classic Love is in the Air by John Paul Young, and I mean it. Really! The place is cool just like the Jamaican bobsled team, and suits wallets of smaller sizes. Namely: the enormous 56 cm pancake, with nutella, that makes Don Pepe’s sizes a joke, is only approaching1000 HUF from below. So there’ll be some forints left for the movies or a stuffed animal. Sure, if you want to look generous (and you’re a loser), you ask for the whole selection of pancakes – for the price of no more programs for the night.

Villa Bagatelle

If you bring your (future) wife or hubby here, you know exactly what you want. You don’t take chances and you use cosy elegance to reach your goals. Not bad, not bad at all – if you really feel this way. If you’re faking it, you suck. Because this place is as refined as lovely. If you take a quick look at the selection of pastry, you’ll know what I mean. And your partner will get it, too, if you bring them here. Get it?

4/13

Trattoria Pomo D’oro

Now, the Italians know a thing or two about a thing or two. Gianni is Italian so he’s also deep in the know. Pomo D’oro is light and hedonistically lively, here everybody’s cheerful. And they’re not faking it. If you’re not the type who get the kicks by a romance for two, rather, you’d have some fun with company, come here. Spread the sex-crazed dolce vita feeling. Then find a sound-proof room and have… the receptionist, mommy, daddy take some hours off not to disturb you…

5/13

Boutiq Bar

Are you cosmopolitan and a bit mundane? Or single and like “anything goes” situations? What better way of giving in to yourself as a couple of good cocktails at the best and most quality cocktail bar in Budapest. Watch out! It’s for the veterans of the game, you’d better not bluff or try your smooth tricks in here. But you can have a sophisticated and sexy timeout, though you’re going to need your credit card drained beforehand. No, not because it’s an expensive place but you’re bound to give a try to some arousing cocktails while whispering under the dim lights...and maybe give a try as to their efficacy afterwards.

6/13

Baldaszti’s Grand (Closed)

This place isn’t for novices, either. Be cool, cosmopolitan, snobbish in the good sense of the word, say no to compromises and last but not least, be pretty well-off. If you come here, you’ll be envied by many as your date is in a place of laid-back elegance. You should have champagne, their selection is excellent and you can order by the glass, as well!

7/13

Innio Restaurant & Bar (Closed)

If you’ve been here, you know why we recommend it, if you haven’t, well, suffice it to say that this wine bar feels like home. Only you won’t have to be bothered by the neighbors or the relatives in here. Sometimes you can still be stylish and take your partner to a fascinating virtual tour through Tuscany and New York. Just think about it, 2 in 1, no further than downtown Budapest and it’s all affordable. So, if you’re someone who knows that the essence of the night will be at home, take your partner here first, have some drinks and after you’ve tellingly winked at each other with the staff, you can go and let your feelings overwhelm you.

8/13

Doblo

The atmosphere here is always good. No kidding. If you want to go out into a multicultural environment and, say, you’re alone to deal with the night, there’s a fair chance you’ll find somebody here to leave with. Should you be friendly but a little shy, the pleasant, humming sounds in the background together the music will help you ease up. Just enough to let you confidently take control after. Oh, and provided you go with your partner, here you will take part in a party. ‘Cause Doblo is like that – a place to make friends.

9/13

Sarki Fűszeres

In the perhaps most lovable environment of the city the perhaps most lovable delicatessen of the city. Little as a jewel box but is capable of generating such emotions that I can’t tell. If you’re really stylish, open to everyday sophisticated gastronomy and are about to amaze your partner with a private dining, get your phone and make a call at once. Make the call and rent the place. Only the two of you at a very cool place, what’s more, in the heart chakra of the city. Need any more?

10/13

Gerlóczy Kávéház

A one-night stand…sounds quite good doesn’t it? Even more so in the sense the downtown café and hotel means it. That is, every night until the end of February a couple of those having their dinner here will be drawn, and they get the chance to spend the night at the most beautiful room of the hotel. What’s more, next morning they’ll get a great dinner, too. Stylish and playful, right? Right, go and have a go at it.

11/13

Brody House

Yepp, we get it, this is a hotel basically, a boutique hotel. Going to a hotel for a date? Why not? And if it’s the Brody House, it’s a no-brainer. Because each and every room in ther has an own personality and atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else. Not to mention the social club room, where you can enjoy contemporary exhibitions or simply cuddle next to the wonderful tile stove. So if you have the soul of an artist, you’re open and a little avant-garde or your partner appreciates the really special things, you’ll hit the jackpot with this.

12/13

Presszó Bisztró

Watch out, distraction maneuver. The sign deceptively reads it’s a café, this place is so much more than that. It has become a legendary place. Sophisticated, cocky and a bit cheeky – but I like it. If you want some fine pulsation, and the word “kinky” means something to you, don’t go any further. Believe me, if you come here and you order a chocolate soufflé for your beloved, they will undoubtedly know that you’re the coolest partner ever. So don’t mess it up now.

New York Café

The legend. Just like that, briefly, simply. If you’re an old-school type of person, who is incredibly refined, then this will be the perfect choice. If your partner likes splendor, and that within arms reach, then this place is also well-suited for you. And if you want a really memorable experience and both of you are uber-romantic and sophisticated, this is your place. A fine place for fine game.
