Whether it's a riverside lunch or a starlit dinner, a fun children's programme for the spring break, an inspiring concert, a special Easter menu, or a brunch or cake-filled getaway near the city, there are plenty of options to enjoy over the long weekend and the spring holidays.
Evezős Beer Garden: spring and terrace-opening vibes on the Danube

With the arrival of spring and the Easter holidays, it's finally time to enjoy sunshine, fresh air and laid-back moments by the river. From 2 April, Evezős Beer Garden reopens on one of the most popular stretches of the Római-part, right on the banks of the Danube, welcoming anyone looking to unwind after a long walk or a springtime outing. A longtime favourite for summer gatherings, the spot has been bringing together families, friends and cyclists for decades, all finding their place under the shade of the trees. There's a play corner for children, while those arriving with dogs can also enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Weekends come with live music lunches, a lively terrace vibe and scenic river views, making the Easter long weekend the perfect excuse for a family programme, a catch-up with friends or simply a peaceful break by the water. On the menu, alongside classic favourites, you'll also find refreshed dishes. Think freshly fried hekk, breaded meats, burgers with chips and homemade Hungarian-style street food. Pair it all with a cold draught beer, a craft lemonade or another refreshing drink, and you've got everything you need for a proper riverside lunch or dinner.

SIMALIBA Belvárosi Csárda: Easter flavours and springtime dishes

Located in the heart of the city centre, SIMALIBA Belvárosi Csárda builds its kitchen around well-loved Hungarian flavours, while keeping things fresh and seasonal through carefully selected ingredients. This Easter, the restaurant once again prepares a festive selection that brings together tradition and a lighter, spring-inspired touch. One of the standout starters is a rich yet delicate meat soup served with poached egg and fresh wild garlic, offering a balanced beginning to the holiday meal. For the main course, one of the season's most iconic dishes takes centre stage: lamb knuckle in a creamy morel mushroom ragout, served with parsley rice. It's a dish that reflects Easter traditions in a way that feels both elegant and comfortingly familiar. To finish, a truly seasonal dessert rounds off the experience - Easter strudel filled with cottage cheese and strawberries, bringing a fresh and slightly sweet note to the table. At SIMALIBA Belvárosi Csárda, Easter is not only about tradition, but also about celebrating the first truly flavourful moments of spring. And the season doesn't end there. Between 20 and 30 April, the restaurant will also take part in the Spring on a Plate - Gastronomy Days 2026, organised by Visit Hungary. The initiative highlights seasonal Hungarian ingredients and a more sustainable approach to gastronomy, with participating venues offering special, spring-focused menus. During this period, it will be worth keeping an eye on SIMALIBA's evolving selection of new seasonal dishes.
