Hungarian Grand Prix

The Hungarian Grand Prix returns to Hungaroring from August 1 to 3, bringing one of the summer's most thrilling spectacles. Sziget Festival

Hungary's biggest music and cultural event, Sziget Festival, returns to Óbuda Island from 6 to 11 August for its 31st edition — and this year brings some exciting changes. Expect a fresh visual concept and a newly reimagined layout divided into themed quarters. The musical lineup is as star-studded as ever, with Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, Charli XCX, Shawn Mendes, Chappell Roan, and Anyma among the international headliners. A brand-new summer club festival is landing at  Dürer Kert from August 1 to 3, bringing a bold lineup for fans of experimental, genre-blurring heavy music. Monolit Festival makes its debut this year, showcasing standout acts from the progressive metal, metalcore, hardcore, industrial, noise, and electronic-tinged scenes.

St. Stephen’s Day

Every August 20, Budapest transforms into one big open-air celebration in honour of Hungary’s founding. Bartók Feszt’ 2025

The Bartók Quarter is a local community where knowledge, support, and tools are constantly shared and passed around. This spirit is at the heart of  Bartók Feszt’, taking place on 30 August across several venues – from Szent Gellért Square to the BME gardens. The aim of the festival is to highlight and promote a culture of sharing.

Generali Night Run Budapest

On Saturday, 30 August, the Generali Night Run Budapest returns for its 11th edition, inviting participants to race through the beautifully lit streets of the capital. The race centre will be located on the Műegyetem embankment, where all races will start and finish.

Runners can choose from four different distances, and there’s even the option to participate by bike. The scenic route includes iconic landmarks such as the Chain Bridge, the Tunnel, and Buda Castle, with breathtaking views of the Parliament glowing in the night. Along the way, music and visual effects will energise runners at several points.

La Boum – Castle House Party

After a one-year break,  La Boum – Kastélyházibuli  is making its long-awaited return on  August  29 and 30 , celebrating its fifth edition in truly enchanting surroundings. Just 30 km from Budapest, the magical garden and ballroom of  Öreg Tölgy Kastély-Fogadó in Pusztazámor will once again host this unique two-day festival that blends music, poetry, and pure summer escapism.
