DAYTIME PARTY AND COMMUNITY CREATION AT KASTNER KOMMUNITY
On 4 September, Kastner Kommunity invites visitors to a party and a collaborative street-art session. Led by OPLA Projekt, anyone can get involved in transforming the advertising column on II. János Pál pápa tér, using their own stencils or paper cut-outs - no previous experience required. Meanwhile, Lahmacun DJs will provide the soundtrack, while Oatly will serve signature drinks alongside light, street-food-inspired bites. Registration is required to take part.

BUDAFOK CHAMPAGNE AND WINE FESTIVAL 2026
Between 4 and 6 September, the Budafok Champagne and Wine Festival returns for its 36th edition, taking place across several locations in Budafok-Tétény over three days. Wine and sparkling wine will once again take centre stage, with a selection from Hungarian wineries accompanied by concerts, cultural programmes, market stalls and plenty of food to enjoy. Families can also look forward to playful and creative activities for children. All programmes are free to attend.

POZSONYI PIKNIK
On 5 September, Újlipótváros's traditional cultural street festival returns to the Újpest Embankment, between Margaret Bridge and Szent István Park. Throughout the day, two stages will host theatre performances and cultural programmes, while theatres, publishers, cultural and civil organisations, local businesses, craftspeople and food vendors will line the riverside with their stands. The section of Radnóti Miklós Street leading to Pozsonyi Road will once again be dedicated to families and younger visitors, with plenty of activities for children.

YOFÉLE MARKET AND MINI FESTIVAL AT DUGATTYÚS
Dugattyús hosts the Yoféle Market and Mini Festival, bringing together independent designers, music and community in one of Budapest's most eclectic creative spaces. Visitors can browse fresh designer pieces, enjoy a special catering selection and soak up the laid-back atmosphere that has made Dugattyús a favourite among the city's creative crowd. The soundtrack for the day comes courtesy of DJ sets, along with electronic live performances by Aurorixa and Omikah. The event also has a charitable side, with donations collected in support of the Menstruálni drága initiative and MFÖEK. Admission is free.

SANTSAT SEASON CLOSING
Santsat says goodbye to summer with one last outdoor gathering at Kamaraerdei Ifjúsági Park. The programme combines live music and DJ sets with yoga, a roller disco, creative workshops and outdoor activities, while Birria Taco Bar, Toldi OÁZIS and Manu+ Pizza take care of the food and drinks.

41ST WIZZ AIR BUDAPEST HALF MARATHON
On 6 September, runners will take to the streets for the 41st Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon, one of Hungary's most popular running events. The scenic course takes participants past some of the capital's best-known sights, with music points and cheering crowds adding to the atmosphere along the way. You don't have to tackle the full 21.1 kilometres alone: the half marathon can also be completed in pairs or teams of three, while a 10K race offers a shorter alternative. Whether you're chasing a personal best or lining up for your first half marathon, it's set to be one of Budapest's biggest running events of the autumn.

WOMEN’S ART CIRCLE IN BUDAPEST
Budapest Psychology Community is hosting a women's art circle on 6 September, creating a relaxed space for conversation, reflection and creativity. The afternoon will begin with an open discussion around women's experiences and perceptions, followed by a guided art session. No art or psychology experience is needed, and all materials are provided. Participation is free, but registration is required as places are limited.

DOWNTOWN BEER FESTIVAL 2026
Between 1 and 6 September, the Downtown Beer Festival returns to Szabadság tér for its 10th edition, bringing six days of golden pours, late-summer evenings, and one of the city's most relaxed open-air vibes. With more than 250 beers - from top Hungarian craft breweries to international favourites and fresh premieres - plus quality street food and light-strung nights in the heart of downtown, it's the kind of end-of-summer ritual best enjoyed with friends and a cold glass in hand.
