Nocsak Bár

Located on the former Soroksár beach, this laid-back spot has a special charm — the EuroVelo 6 international cycle route, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea, runs right past it. It’s an ideal pit stop for a hungry cyclist on an autumn ride, with street food–style dishes, from handmade burgers and fish to fresh salads, that are both hearty and flavourful. You can enjoy the food on the terrace overlooking the bike path or inside the heated space, which stays open all year round.

Evezős Sörkert

The Római-part is slowly drifting into its winter slumber, but that doesn’t mean it’s going completely quiet. As regulars know, a few spots along the riverside keep the spirit alive even in the colder months with programmes, events, and live music. One of them is the Evezős Sörkert, a beloved fixture of the area for more than 30 years. From autumn to spring, it welcomes guests with fried fish, cold beer, and a friendly atmosphere. You can still catch that vibe on weekends until the end of October – weather permitting – and if it’s too chilly this weekend, they’ll be back open the next.

Majorka

There are few prettier corners of the city than Városmajor in autumn, and it’s sure to draw plenty of visitors again this season for a peaceful stroll among the golden leaves. Afterwards, a stop at Majorka, right by the park’s entrance, feels just right. The terrace has already been winterproofed, so you can still sit outdoors without catching a chill, and the café is welcoming the season with a new menu – think steamed dumplings with vanilla sauce and poppy seeds, and a comforting cup of hot chocolate to go with it.

Gerlóczy Kávéház

At Gerlóczy Café, just a minute away from the bustle of Pest, you might feel as if you’ve stepped back a hundred years to a quieter Budapest — one without noise, cars, or hurry. Set on the charming Kammermayer Károly Square, the café welcomes guests with seasonal dishes and a touch of Parisian elegance. Whether you come for breakfast, coffee, or to stay at the adjoining hotel, it’s a timeless spot to slow down. The terrace isn’t heated, but on mild October days, it’s still a delightful place to sit and soak up the atmosphere.

ODA

Opened two years ago on the former site of Czakó Kert, ODA unites three Budapest favourites under one roof: the pizzas from IDE, the schnitzels from Buja Disznó(k), and the baos from 101Bistro. One of its greatest charms is the spacious garden, which can still be enjoyed for another couple of weeks, until mid-October. After that, it’s still well worth stopping by — you can linger in the cosy winter garden, where a touch of sunshine still streams in during lunch or dinner.

Pántlika

Life never stops at one of City Park’s oldest favourites, which stays lively all year round. Originally built as an information pavilion for the Budapest International Fair (BNV), it has served as a popular eatery for decades. Although it’s mainly an open-air bistro, Pántlika doesn’t go into hibernation for winter — the terrace is prepared for the cold season, and you can even enjoy your freedom under the heated bubble tents that appear once temperatures drop.
