“…and yet I’m here.”

Budapest’s United States Embassy joined forces with the Mai Manó House to present a careful selection of Associated Press photographs commemorating Hungary’s 1956 Revolution. The exhibition presents the aftermath of the uprising to the audience, portraying how 200,000 Hungarians had to flee their homeland after the Soviet counterstrike, and start new lives in another country.

“#Bartók”

Magyar maestro Béla Bartók created a complex lifework as both a composer and musicologist, enriching universal culture. “Art Moments – Million Street”

“The Untold Tragedies”

This exhibition is happening at an unconventional venue, where exhibits have never been held before: at the secret air-raid shelters of the Fészek Theater on Orczy Road. “The Untold Tragedies” is a cross-disciplinary art collaboration of four young Hungarian contemporary artists presenting prints, experimental-music shows, poetry, installations, and more, evoking an apocalyptic world where violence rules, and reason is just an infertile woman.
