Back in 2016, it seemed like we had said goodbye to Roxette forever — and with it, the chance to hear their timeless hits live again. But now, Per Gessle, the band’s founder, is bringing the magic back. In 2025, he’ll return to the stage alongside Swedish superstar Lena Philipsson for the Roxette In Concert tour, ready to win over audiences once more.

The first stop of the European tour is Budapest

The first leg of the Roxette In Concert tour has recently wrapped up — and it was a huge success. The tour kicked off in Cape Town with a spectacular, never-before-seen show, continued in Pretoria , and concluded with nine unforgettable concerts across Australia . In total, more than 75,000 fans sang along to the band’s iconic anthems, once again proving that Roxette’s music is truly timeless .

Both fans and critics have praised the additional shows with overwhelming enthusiasm. The highly anticipated arena tour was preceded by a summer concert series across Europe , featuring several major festival performances and four sold-out shows in Sweden . As Newcastle Live put it:

The setlist was a masterclass in hit-making — from the sweeping ballad It Must Have Been Love to the high-energy anthems How Do You Do! and Joyride. The encore took nostalgia to its peak: Spending My Time and Listen to Your Heart stirred emotions, while The Look had the crowd dancing. Closing with Queen of Rain, Roxette proved that their music still resonates deeply, even after all these years.

It’s been five years since Roxette lost its iconic lead singer, Marie Fredriksson , who passed away after a battle with cancer. Yet the band’s musical legacy lives on — their songs are still played and loved by fans old and new across the world. Speaking about the tour, founder and frontman Per Gessle shared:

The first leg of the tour was an unbelievable experience. It was so emotional and powerful to reconnect with the fans and bring Roxette’s music back to the stage. The reaction was truly overwhelming. Marie will always be irreplaceable, but I feel lucky to have found a wonderful voice and brilliant performer in Lena Philipsson. I co-wrote her first big hit back in 1986, and she’s truly one of Sweden’s brightest stars.

A special show at the Arena

Roxette is bringing their impressive live show to several major European cities, giving fans a rare chance to experience their beloved songs live once again — in a fresh, vibrant performance that still carries the timeless magic which made the band one of the most successful pop acts of all time.

Joining Per Gessle and Lena Philipsson on stage are longtime collaborators and world-class musicians Christoffer Lundquist, Magnus Börjeson, Magnus “Norpan” Eriksson, Dea Norberg, and Roxette’s original legendary band members Clarence Öfwerman and Jonas Isacsson.

In this incredible line-up, Hungarian fans can enjoy Roxette’s greatest hits live on November 4 at the Budapest Arena.
