A legendary couple who ran a flower stall in the leafy Buda district of Pasarét are the latest subject for urban sculptor Mihajlo Kolodko, known for his humorous figurines placed around town. The mini-sculpture has just been unveiled at Pasaréti tér.
Aunt Aranka and Uncle Béla were a revered couple who ran a flower stall in Pasarét. After their passing, locals began to leave flowers and messages at the site where they used to sell their wares.
With this in mind, much as District VII arranged for urban sculptor Mihajlo Kolodko to create statuettes related to urban myths there, so District II commissioned the artist to fashion likenesses of the legendary couple, sat on top of a flower.
