Open Fire station day

It's an old cliché that if you ask a small child what they want to be when they grow up, every second child will say they want to be a firefighter. Perhaps that's why a recurring program of Children's Days is when the doors of the fire stations open. This year will be no different. Firefighters will demonstrate their equipmentchildren can put on their fire suits, and they will even hold a fire drill

Children's Day at the Children's Railway

No Children’s Day would be complete without something special from the Children’s Railway. The Children’s Railway (Gyermekvasút) is one of Budapest’s most unique attractions. The line runs from Széchenyi Hill to Hűvösvölgy, crossing with the Cogwheel Railway and serving Normafa and János Hill. The lookout points, forest playgrounds, places of pilgrimage and other hilly attractions lie close to stations, making the Children’s Railway the ideal jumping-off point for a day’s outing.

From 10 am to 5 pm at the Hűvösvölgy terminus, kids can join in on face painting, magic shows, circus acts, a traffic safety track , a giant board game , and more. They can also meet animals, snap a photo in a conductor’s uniform, and of course, hop aboard the train.
