There’s a great new festival in Budapest this year, a three-day showcase for alternative music. Reflektor will take place on 14-16 July at Terebesi erdő, near Örs vezér tere, just a tram hop from town. So far, confirmed acts include US experimentalists Son Lux, Kettering rockers Temples and Yorkshire duo Seafret.

Hosted at a former truck wash at Terebesi erdő, Reflektor runs over three days in mid-July. Easily reached by taking a tram to Terebesi utca, the new festival is aimed at those keen on seeing new acts and people who just fancy a summer party within each reach.

The boutique festival selects from a wide range of genres, catchy psychedelic pop, mainstream post-punk, jazzy lo-fi hip hop and experimental electronics.

As well as Temples, Seafret and Son Lux, acts include Amsterdam’s Weval on the Ninja Tunes Technicolour imprint, and Brighton indie bands Porridge Radio and Squid. Look out, too, for Austrian psychedelic space rockers Mother’s Cake, multimedia artist Floex from the Czech Republic and Belgian no-wavers Whispering Sons. Hungarian performers include iamyank, Superflake and O’SULLIVAN. Saturday night will be overseen by the LavaLava party crew.
