From this weekend, the Danube embankment between Margaret Bridge and Közraktár utca will be closed off to cars. Four-wheeled traffic will be prohibited from 6am on Saturdays until 7pm on Sundays, until works start on the renovation of the riverside promenade.

In a repeat of the successful initiative of 2020, cyclists and pedestrians can take over the Pest embankment without the nuisance of cars at weekends. Starting from tomorrow, Saturday, 27 March, and until renovation works begin, every weekend here will be car-free.

Everyone is asked to abide by the rules of quarantine, to wear a mask and keep their distance from each other.
