As just announced by Budapest transport company BKK, renovations and restrictions on tram lines will begin from mid-June. On main routes 4 and 6, there will be a replacement bus service between the south Buda terminals and Corvin-negyed, then south Buda and Goldmann György tér on the Buda side of Petőfi Bridge. The work, which runs from 11 June to 5 August, will replace the worn-out tracks with more modern ones easier to maintain, making future interventions faster.
Due to work on the tram link between Soroksári út and Haller utca, and the renovation of Kvassay Bridge to Csepel, the route of tram 2 and HÉV train H7 will change. Bosnyák tér, a major hub past Keleti station, will also be affected by works, with replacement buses for tram routes 3, 62 and 69.
