The latest edition of exclusive UK travel magazine ‘Monocle’ includes a colourful feature about Budapest with bright graphics by renowned local designer Róbert Farkas. Published ten times a year, this glossy showcase of global lifestyle trends has a worldwide circulation of 80,000, more than 30,000 coming from over-the-counter sales around the world.

An imaginative marriage of design, fashion, travel and global politics, Monocle was conceived by Tyler Brűlé, the brains behind pioneering publication Wallpaper*.

For the current issue, Hungarian graphic artist Róbert Farkas, known for his work with Hungarian TV stations and mobile-phone companies, has created a cool, customised map of Budapest, the main sights defined in entertaining detail.

Citadella, Parliament and Liberty Bridge all stand out, as well as lesser-known landmarks such as the Former Post Office Savings Bank designed by Budapest’s leading architect of Art Nouveau, Ödön Lechner.
