E-Magine Travel offers altogether six different tours that cover everything you need to see in the city. You can explore downtown and its postcard superstars, the Castle District backdropped by the rolling Buda Hills, the green oasis of Margaret Island, the best views and panoramas along the riverbank, the city illuminated at night, or all of these on your own little scooter and with an expert guide. Sounds fun, right?
The scooters are 100% electric and zero-emission, and are very easy to ride. You quickly get used to accelerating and braking, and the extra wide wheels will give you a sense of security. The scooters are also stable and only reach up to 25km/h, so falling off or getting an injury is not really on the cards if you're sensible. During the tour, you often ride on pavements and cycle paths, so there's no need to worry too much about traffic. This means that the scooters are fine for all ages above 16 and do not require a driving licence. Before each tour, your guide will give you a quick crash-course on how to use the scooters, and then you're ready to zoom through beautiful Budapest.
Every group gets a guide who will be friendly, fluent in English and will know Budapest like the back of their hand. They not only tell you all you want to know about the city and its sights at stopping points during the tour, but also know the best roads, lanes and thoroughfares to take you on so you can make the most of the ride. Altogether, the experience is particularly magical as over the course of 1.5 to three hours – depending on which tour you choose – you get your bearings in Budapest and also learn a lot about its sights and history.
E-Magine Travel runs tours every day of the week, come rain or shine. When the weather turns chilly, they can provide ponchos and gloves. Every tour starts in English by default, but if you're interested in taking one in another language, you can contact the company via e-mail. If you'd rather zoom around Budapest on your own, scooters are also available for rent with helmets and lights included.
You can book an E-Magine Travel tour online or in person at their Budapest office. More details
