When it comes to partying in Budapest, the best destination is always District VII, with ruin bars, pubs and bars a-plenty. But there's always room for one more, especially if that's Hétkert. On Friday, Hétkert Budapest opens on Kazinczy utca, courtesy of Gergő Csókay, who's already proved himself with Ötkert and Citymatiné.
Hétkert will not only be a party place per se, but more like a community space, where people can gather with a drink at the end of the day. The week here will start with live music, then different genres will take over, from hip hop through to electro swing and deep house.
As far as food goes, BLITZ pizza has installed an oven straight from Naples, in which they'll also make other special dishes. We can't tell what these will be just yet, but a hint is that pizza dough will be used freely and sunsets will serve as inspiration. Salads will also feature on the menu and bites cooked over an open fire might make an appearance.
The terrace will be a real urban jungle with plenty of plants, comfy seats, tasty bites and cocktails.
Gin tonics will be in the spotlight – you will be able to mix and match your drink from a menu dedicated to the iconic G&T. New cocktails will feature, based on mature rum or tequila, flying you to the tropics with fresh flavours. The Aperol Spritz here will be a Jungle Spritz and the Negronis will tempt taste buds.
Hétkert debuts on 2 August with a two-day opening party. For more details, follow the Facebook event.
