It seems Momoa is here to shoot Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s best-selling novel Dune. The sci-fi literary classic should bring a high-wattage cast to Budapest for shooting this summer, including Oscar winner Javier Bardem, Timothée Chalamet of Call Me By Your Name fame, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Oscar Issac. Set in the distant future, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides (Chalamet), whose family accepts control of the desert planet Arrakis, the only producer of a highly valuable resource. Control of Arrakis is also contested among noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion and man’s relationship to nature as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s rule of Arrakis. Star Spanish actor Javier Bardem is to play Stilgar, the leader of the nomadic Fremen who take in Paul and later make him their spiritual leader.

Thanos is also in town, as Josh Brolin posted a photo of him and his son outside Nyugati station, writing a lengthy post about Budapest.
