Found by the city’s red Rákóczi Bridge, Budapest Park has provided cheerful nights to thousands of revellers all summer long. But the party is not over yet. This alfresco venue for chilling during the day and rocking out at night will keep their doors open for many more weeks, hosting local groups and globally acclaimed performers.
This Saturday, August 18th, a great gig is in the pipeline, when Cape Town-based Die Antwoord stir the waters with the band’s anti-hits Enter The Ninja or Baby’s On Fire. Then on August 22nd, Italian reggae star Alborosie gets you moving to Rastafari Anthem and many other popular Jamaican hits. This is the first time the dreadlocked artist touches down in Budapest, now as part of his international UNBREAKABLE tour to promote the singer’s new album recorded with Bob Marley’s former backing band The Wailers. For this show, Alborosie is joined by legendary Jamaican ska band The Skatalites.
For the rest of the summer season, the international line-up at Budapest Park includes German DJ phenomenon ATB and Modern Talking singer Thomas Anders. Besides shows by these special guest performers, many popular Hungarian bands will appear on stage, bringing concert shows almost every night to Budapest Park. Among them are Irie Maffia, Supernem and Margaret Island. Meanwhile, on September 8th, Wellhello hit the stage for a symphonic concert.
;list=PLw-6_Y1MZiKQntHO56-FRRjCt8cG_E_dw This season will reach its climax with the Kapuzárási Piknik festival, featuring shows and parties in the Park for over three days. Passes to attend this three-day event costs 7,500 forints, but concerts can also be visited with day tickets. On the last day of the festival, the Hungarian hip-hop band Punnany Massif bid farewell to balmy nights here.
During some shows, fans can use special glasses to help them sense what it’s like to stand on stage, facing the concert crowd. This feature is supported by 140° and 360° digital cameras, alongside VR glasses provided by the Telekom company. You can even take a snapshot of this experience to share the best moments with your social media followers. Just look for the magenta container.
The gates are not closed at Budapest Park when concerts are over. Themed party series continue late into the night, featuring the most diverse musical line-ups. What more do you need for a fully fledged night out in Budapest?
