Some of Hungary’s best wineries set up stalls at the City Park this weekend to offer their intoxicating summertime treats for the Rosalia Festival, treating bibulous crowds to a whole array of refreshing rosé wines. You’ll also find sparkling favourites, such as prosecco and champagne, at this alfresco gathering stretching all the way to monumental Heroes’ Square, where an oversized cork will be installed to add a picture-perfect background for taking selfies.

In the park, you can put down your picnic blanket nearly anywhere or just retreat to a beanbag or a bench set up for the festival. Meanwhile, plenty of people should gather around the lake hanging their legs above the water, sipping wines and admiring views over fairy-tale Vajdahunyad Castle. Local goats’ cheese, burgers, sandwiches and strudels are sold to absorb the tipples.

For culture, an interactive art tent will be set up to highlight traditional tools used in winemaking. By day and come nightfall, live tunes jazz up the scene. If you want to awaken your senses, bring your own mat on Sunday and join the community yoga session beginning at 10:30am.
The event is also dog-friendly and water bowls are distributed across the park for four-legged guests.

While entry to the festival is free, branded crystal glasses should be purchased for sampling at 1,500 forints. For payment, use your bank card or take a Festipay card on the spot and top it up with the desired amount.
The event is open to visitors Friday 2pm-midnight, Saturday noon-midnight and Sunday 10am-9pm.
