7pm - 9pm : Az Állampolgár (The Citizen) at Cinema City AlleeOn Friday, visitors can attend the pre-premiere screening of the third feature film of award-winning Hungarian director Roland Vranik. The Citizen follows an African refugee who aims to lead a sedate life as a security guard in a Budapest shopping center, striving to become a model Hungarian citizen. On Friday, the film screens in Hungarian with English subtitles at Cinema City Allee, and afterwards, Roland Vranik takes questions from the audience.
7pm - : Aranybál at Pesti VigadóThe first Aranybál (translating to “Golden Ball”) evokes a 19th-century atmosphere of the golden age of galas, with a classical music concert, a divine dinner, and Hungarian folk and waltz dance performances in a spectacular Budapest setting: the riverfront Pesti Vigadó.
8pm - 11pm: Jose Carreras Concert at Papp László Budapest SportAréna In the Budapest stop of his last European tour, legendary Spanish tenor José Carreras performs his concert, “A Life in Music”, for his Hungarian fans. Particularly known for his performances in the operas of Verdi and Puccini, José Carreras is one of the most outstanding tenors of the world, with a career that spans over 60 roles, and concerts in the world’s leading opera houses.

A38 Night/Life Presents: Demogorgon Party at A38A38’s free synthwave party series, the Demogoron Party, became a regular event in order to provide a platform for lovers of the ’80s to party together. The freshest hits alongside the all-time classics of the ’80s, flickering neon lights, old horror movies, pixelated console games, and classic TV commercials await everyone here.

Dice Events pres.: Format: B at Corvin ClubFormat B is a German tech-house group consisting of Franciskus Sell and Jakob Hildenbrand, who have both been spinning records for over ten years now, and both studied at Berlin’s School of Audio Engineering. On Friday evening, they entice everyone to the dance floor of Corvin Club with energetic electronica tunes.

11am - 5pm: Gardrób Fair at Budapest Central PassageWe all have heaps of clothes, accessories, and other trinkets that we are never going to wear anymore, yet they are too nice to be thrown out. This Saturday, everyone can sell these items with only a few rules to note: please only bring clean and ironed clothes that are in good condition – the kind of items you yourself would happily purchase. You set the prices of your products, but please make sure to bring your own price tags. You can reserve a table to sell via

The Night of Ice Rinks at various venuesIce skating after the sun goes down is an enchanting experience; on Saturday, The Night of Ice Rinks is held for the second time in Budapest, awaiting skate lovers with slippery settings open until late at night all around the country. Last year, a totoal of nearly 70 ice rinks joined this initiative, so possibly there will be no lack of participating ice rinks this year either; among many others, the beautiful ice rink at City Park welcomes everyone. 8pm - 11pm: JetLag First Flight Show at Akvárium KlubJetlag is a Hungarian future classic electro-pop band that was formed in 2016. The boys step on stage for the first time ever at Akvárium Klub, turning the scene into a fascinating flight with groundbreaking visuals.
10pm - 8:30am:
Winter Mirage at Dürer KertWinter Mirage’s special guest is a prominent progressive representative of Iboga records, Ticon, who presents their latest album live, followed by an intriguing DJ set. Furthermore, the producer of the legendary Hommega records, Animato, performs at Dürer Kert for the first time, guiding the audience into the world of psytrance, while the dark stage features a lady guest again, Yara, who proves that not only men can rock the mixing console.
11pm - 7am: Raktár.Klasszik at Raktár Klub
Budapest’s newest downtown club, Raktár Klub, “returns to its roots” every Saturday with rowdy revelries evoking a cozy house-party atmosphere. Week after week, Raktár Klub is packed with city dwellers who dance the night away together, while the bartenders serve vodka on tap and a great lineup of DJs spins discs, including Chris-M, Emory Hungary, Daniel Dash, and VIRUS. 11pm - 6am:
The Hive: Xtrah (UK) at Corvin ClubThe Hive’s guest in January is an inimitable London-based businessman, producer, and DJ: Xtrah, whose precise ear for beats has played an integral part in his building a wide range of releases on some of D&B’s biggest labels while amassing numerous fans and peers in the process.

9am - 2pm: Szimpla Farmers’ Market at Szimpla KertOne of the most popular ruin pubs in Budapest – Szimpla on Kazinczy Street – fills up every Sunday with a friendly artisanal farmers’ market, where you can buy locally made goods and fresh produce such as fruits, cheeses, vegetables, honeys, jams, mushrooms, cold cuts, and homemade lemonades and syrups. 10:30am - 11:15pm: Brahms Marathon at The Palace of Arts Müpa’s daylong concert series puts Johannes Brahms in the limelight. The great summarizer of 19th-century music history wrote significant compositions in many genres, ranging from symphonic and concert works through vocal and chamber music to pieces for solo piano, which will be presented by prominent Hungarian performers on this special day. 5pm - 7:30pm: Shawshank Redemption at Bem Cinema In Shawshank Redemption, a banker named Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sentenced to a life sentence at the Shawshank State Prison in Maine for a double murder, where another lifer, Ellis Red Redding (Morgan Freeman), picks him as the new recruit most likely to crack under the pressure. However, Andy does not crack, as he has the hope of the truly innocent. The film screens with original English audio and Hungarian subtitles at Bem Cinema. 6pm - 11pm: Epica + Powerwolf Concert at Barba Negra Music Club In the framework of their joint tour, Epica and Powerwolf perform in Budapest together on Sunday. The Dutch symphonic-metal band presents their new album to the audience, while the German power metal formation brings their concert DVD to Barba Negra Music Club.
