Our weekly roundup for the upcoming weekend offers plenty of suggestions for where to go, what to do, and who must not be missed during the next three days. There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – exhibitions, markets, live music, festivals, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Friday

10am - 8pm:
Peter Farago & Ingela Klemetz-Farago - Women In Chanel
at Ludwig Museum The visionary duo of Peter Farago (born in Szekszárd) and Swedish Ingela Klemetz-Farago belongs to the most creative teams of today’s fashion photography. As part of a unique collaboration with Chanel, they created full fashion stories featuring the most sought-after supermodels from Central Europe and Poland. The result is a highly personal and spectacular fashion saga where the aesthetics of the Faragos is expressed through sensitivity and perfect timing, on view at this new exhibit through September 11th.

5pm - :

Garden Party
at Gellért Söröző & Brasserie Budapest’s historic Hotel Gellért awaits everyone to a garden party with the dishes of the best gastro places of the city, the coolest craft beers, wines, bean bags, and a breathtaking panorama. If you want to experience the real grill ’n’ chill vibes, you know where to go: Steamboo, Élesztő, Céltorony, Hal & Chips, and other venues will move to Gellért to have a good time together – which means that you won't miss a thing.
7pm - 11pm: Endless Summer at ZSIRÁFAlthough it premiered 50 years ago, The Endless Summer endured the test of time as the most influential adventure-sports documentary ever made. It wasn’t the first of the genre, but it was unique in its huge crossover appeal and aw-shucks wholesome sincerity; that’s why it could spark popular interest in surf culture that has endured at the movies ever since, whether in direct descendants like Step Into Liquid or Keanu Reeves’s Point Break. 9pm - : Deathronation, Gore Thrower, Purulent Rites at DRRPNC The music of the Nürnberg-based Deathronation is the soundtrack of cemeteries. Their debut album, “Hallow The Dead”, is full of songs that were exhumed from instruments and reburied into the ears of the listener. So the name of the nightmare is vicious death metal, made in the ’90s: powerfully catchy riffs with tinges of black metal and elements of trash metal and crust punk. If you like classic acts like Death or Obituary, don’t miss this!
11pm - 6am: Disqrate – All night long with Nigel Sorter & Andras Garay at Corvin Club Disqrate invites you to an unusual party in the middle of the summer season. After the three French techno and house royalties – D’Julz, Phil Weeks, and Lazare Hoche – Nigel Sorter and Andras Garay will conquer the great hall of Corvin this evening. Saturday

11am - 6pm:
July’s bicycle and parts market at Dürer Kert
The monthly bike fair will be relaunched to feature various fun activities. Get a used bike, bike parts, or accessories, or if you have anything to sell, register at durerbringaborze@gmail.com. Since this will be one of the biggest bike fairs of the month, if you’re thinking of buying a bike, you won’t find a better selection.
6pm - : Chie Yamayoshi – Ephemeral Eternity at Budapest PontIn Japan, the cherry blossoms signify the transience of existence, renowned for its vibrant yet ephemeral beauty. After Japan’s earthquake-tsunami catastrophe and subsequent nuclear meltdown in 2011, the blossoms also became a measure of hope for the resurrection of life.

Japanese artist Chie Yamayoshi layers artificiality with the natural world by replicating the blooming through a seven-channel projection. Immersed within the installation, the viewer is surrounded by an invisible wind that sweeps the petals across projections where quiet spectacle and the sublime are intertwined.

7pm - : Black Nail Cabaret, Agavoid at A38 ShipBlack Nail Cabaret is a Hungarian synth noir duo from Budapest.

Since their debut they had a chance to support the Swedish industrial group Covenant and the German synthpop band De/Vision. They also performed at the RECession Festival in Aarhus, Denmark, and on the Schwarzes Leipzig Tanzt X-mas event in Leipzig, Germany. Agavoid is a Hungarian experimental outfit consisting Kristóf Huszár, Dalma Tamara Puskás, and Bálint Kriska.
9pm - 11pm:

Spanish Movie Nights – Chico & Rita
at Terasz Budapest Spanish movies appear on the big screen of Terasz Budapest when EURO 2016 has a day off.

Spanish cinema has plenty to be proud of – from Pedro Almodóvar to Alejandro Amenábar, Spanish directors have won the appraisal of film critics and audiences internationally, with a handful of Oscars to top it all off. The organizers will select some of their favorites for the big screen: for example, Chico & Rita, a 2010 adult animated music romantic film with Spanish and English language. A Cuban pianist becomes smitten with a sultry singer, leading to a passionate but star-crossed romance that reaches across six decades. Original audio, English subtitles.
11pm - 6am:

Be Massive Label Night: PlusPlus, Robin Futaki Metha Ruiz Sierra, Avika aka DSH, Lucky23
at Corvin ClubAfter 13 years of blasting beats, Be Massive does not stop at genres; they play everything that might be interesting to their audience: expect a stark, deep sound, fat basslines, hypnotic grooves, and metallic minimalism, paired with irrefutable logic. The hybrid fusion of raw, ancient techno and breaks, without any unnecessary frills, yet still intelligent.
Sunday

6am - 2pm:

Contra Mundum Afterhours – Terrace Edition
at Corvin Club Budapest never sleeps – not even after a whole night spent partying. That’s why Afterhours came to life: to help you get your extra dose of electronic music on the last day of the week, beginning at 6am. This time, the DJs (Zvezda Beta, Andras Toth) will spend only a short time banging in the black halls of Corvin Club, and then move to the rooftop terrace to chill out with like-minded partygoers.

6pm - : Küss Mich Presents Destruction Unit, Gustave Tiger, ODDS at DRRPNC Destruction Unit are an American band formed in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. Dug up from the sonic landfills of the cosmos, these radical desert dwellers have built a reputation for both mesmerizing and terrorizing crowds with their sheer power and intensity. Like running head first into a spinning wall of sound, they have been described by the press as “a band who felt more like a horror movie than a band … With guitars that were distorted beyond belief and acted more as auxiliary noise machines than instruments” (Transmission Entertainment) and “Suicide-meets-Chrome-meets-Hawkwind-meets-Screamers-meets-the-killer-last-scene-reveals-in-all-the-alien-episodes-of-The Twilight Zone” (LA Weekly), or, more simply put, punk rock.
