Fans fill the Budapest streets after Hungary’s football triumph

Outbursts of joy filled the air above Budapest after yesterday’s memorable Hungary-Portugal Euro 2016 soccer match that ended in a 3-3 tie. Football fans filled the streets with rowdy cheers, creating a spontaneous festival scene as parades of exuberant Magyars marched down the middle of major boulevards into the night. All of Hungary is now gripped with European Championship fever, as this is the first time Hungary has advanced from the group stage of a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup – with Hungary now in first place for this stage.
