There are always so many happenings to choose from in Budapest – club parties, exhibits, live music, cocktails, performances, and more – but here is our pick of the bunch for the imminent 72 hours or so:

Nighttime sport
at ELTE Sport Camp (Budapest 1117, Bogdánfy Ödön Street 10)The traditional ELTE Éjszakai Sport (ELTE’s nighttime sport event) will be organized for all sports-loving students and teachers at ELTE Sporttelep, on the last day of the semester, December 11th. Besides team sports (football, volleyball, basketball, quidditch, laser tag) there will also be strategy games, combat sports, aerobics, dynamic yoga, and zumba. The purpose of the event is to let all ELTE students, teachers, and alumni members meet, make connections, and enjoy different types of sports. There’s a discounted 1,000-forint entrance fee for all ELTE students, teachers, and alumni.

7pm - :

J.S. Unalom
at Supermarket Gallery In the past ten years, Hungarian photographer J.S.
debuted on the most prestigious international photography scenes, and became widely known in the West – where one of the best-known galleries supported the artist. The pictures at this exhibition were discovered recently, so the gallery wants to display them (as the first ones to do so) in a vacuum – keeping it apart from the prestigious name and lifework of the artist.

Cooperate presents Jonas Kopp – Corvin Pre-Opening
at Corvin Club December brings a new era to this club. The whole venue has a new and nicer appearance, and the sound system is being renewed, too, with Mogul units. They invited a special artist for this special occasion – Argentinean techno genius Jonas Kopp.

Catching Flies Live, Gelka Live Mashups, Cadik
at A38 Gelka has been on Warp, Om Records, Ministry of Sound, and 17 Café del Mar compilations, where this unique artistry is ranked among the top in the chillout elite alongside Unkle, Lamb, Moby, or Faithless. A fantastic Gelka mashup set coming up on the A38Ship!Saturday

DIP Design Fair
at G3 Rendezvényközpont (Gödör Klub)DIP’s fair was created with the designers’ initiative and active participation. The colorful selection includes the works of young Hungarian designers and creative artists – jewelry, clothes, accessories, graphics, photographs,interior décor, games – and natural cosmetics, as well.

2pm - :

Kapocs – Budapest Bike Maffia
at Akvárium Klub This multifaceted program aims to combine biking with volunteer work to help those in need, along with the cultural and party scene of Budapest.

Budapest Bike Maffia gives a space for collective donations, where everyone prepares sandwiches and hygiene packages together. To create a good vibe for the preparations, CREZ (AnaloguE, Music Market) will put on some records. After the party, everyone will head to the streets and hand out the packages to homeless people. As the cold weather approaches, it would be especially great if anyone could bring some blankets and sleeping bags, thus making sure that less people will be cold on the streets.

Nightwish, Amorphis, Arch Enemy
at Papp László Budapest SportArena Nightwish is coming to Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on December 12th. The Finnish band presents their new studio album, called “Endless Forms Most Beautiful”, after two warm-up bands, the Swedish Arch Enemy and the Finnish Amorphis; both are real legends in their genre.

Deep Café / Nigel Stately Birthday Edition / Daniel Brooks, Tigran, Meszi, Moon
at Tesla Budapest Don’t miss out on the last Deep Café Party of the year. The specialty of this night will be an even number: the Nigel Stately 30th Birthday Edition!

Max The Sax
at Ötkert Max The Sax, whose real name is Markus Ecklmayr, will celebrate his 30th birthday six days after his concert at Ötkert. The former saxophonist and frontman of Parov Stelar is the living proof that jazz can conquer the DJ console. A saxophone, a pinch of the ’30s, a little swing and some funk – all of this from Max The Sax to the Ötkert audience on December 12th.Sunday

WAMP’s Second Christmas Fair
at Millenáris ParkOn the three Advent weekends of December, building B of Millenáris welcomes visitors with more designers and exciting programs than ever before. On December 13th, WAMP checks in again: Budapest’s favorite design fair awaits everyone with a record number of exhibitors – nearly 250 designers will be there. Among many other goods, the Little Hungaropedia will also be available for purchase.

11am - :

Kicks R Good
at Anker't The Kicks R Good event on December 13th will be the fifth shoe exhibition aiming to promote the local sneaker and streetwear culture. During the event, international and local brands will present their winter collections, so visitors can look around and buy the pieces of New Era, BP Clothing, and Rayan Clothing, just to mention a few examples. In addition, treasured pieces of private collectors will be on display, too.

Noon - :
Christmas yard sale
at Fogas Ház The coolest people of Budapest will gather for a Christmas yard sale in two different places. At Fogas Ház they await visitors with real treasures, while at the cozy Liebling they will organize a design market to get you in the spirit of the Christmas season. It is a must for tattooed people, dog owners, designers, skateboarders, snowboarders, longboarders, hot nurses, photographers, motorbikers, aerobic trainers, divers, yoga instructors, pheasant hunters, prosthetic-limb makers, pole dancers, makeup artists, and ballerinas.

12th Santa Speedo Run
at Gozsdu Manó Klub Put a smile on the face of people on the street! Let’s multiply our forces and make sure we are shown even on the very last TV screen in Zimbabwe, and help those in need! Bring everyone with you who has some… you know, parts that don’t dangle when they get cold!
