10am - 8pm: Projekt #14: The Hungarian Concept at Projekt ShowroomBetween August 19th and September 19th, the first Hungarian pop-up store of Projekt Showroom awaits customers, and we here at We Love Budapest are happily lending a hand. The shop features the freshest creations of modern Magyar designers, offering everything from folk-art crafts to hip contemporary kitchenware to local culinary treats, all offering a 21st-century overview of high-quality Hungarian goods.
10am - 11pm: Festival of Folk Arts at Buda Castle This year, the cream of Hungarian masters and craftsmen move into the Buda Castle for the 29th time. At the Festival of Folk Arts during August 20-23, the focus is on the life of shepherds. The main goal of the festival remains the same for nearly three decades: to present very rare but still active crafts that exist thanks to creative minds and hardworking people from the past. The most ancient crafts resulting from the pastoral life is a great example; a profession and lifestyle merging since bygone times.
6.30pm - 5am: Paddy And The Rats at Barba Negra TrackPaddy and the Rats has played more than 500 gigs in the past few years, and they have a massive fanbase both in Hungary and abroad. They’ll perform original songs and cover fishermen’s songs like “Drunken Sailor” and “Bully in the Alley” at the Track.
7pm: CONTAIN[ERA] Budapest at Szabadság SquareSharing and obtaining, site-specific versus non site-specific, bridging the gap between local and global, and discovering our roots in the new post-Internet era – those are the main topics of an international exhibition project Contain[era] – Materialized Information Transfer in the Post-Internet Era. Eight shipping containers are turned into moving galleries, each providing space for a multimedia installation of one European emerging artist. From August 20th 2015 these exhibitions will travel on a circlular route throughout Europe for two months connecting nearby cultures.
11.30 - 5am: Brutkó + Hyenaz at Toldi Club“For our last party we entered a dark and dense forest. After all of you left two creatures appeared among the trees, dressed in white and making a loud racket. As they were approaching we realized they were following us. We would never dare to capture them, but if all goes well we will arrive at Toldi on the night of August 21st. We will try to keep them in our dark disco trap as long as possible, but take care: don’t scare them or they will scare you!” Quoth the organizers...
Saturday

Noon - 5pm: Gardrób***Szimpla at Szimpla KertThe Gardrób Community Market is Budapest’s biggest secondhand clothes and accessory fair, where ordinary people sell their stuff they have outgrown or have become bored with. As of spring 2015, the main Gardrób event on Király Street is not the only place for treasure hunters – Szimpla Kert also awaits market-goers with selected pieces.
8pm - 10pm: Passed, Iamyank, Kaktus at A38 ShipYoung, talented, heartbreaking, wit, funny, kicking – a new band has turned up in the middle of the mainstream pop culture, and they are going to rock the boat on this night. Their support will be a nice surprise: a pleasant Kaktus, the band.
8pm: Foxmoulder, Eaglehaslanded, Pepi Rössler, Less Than Zero at Filter ClubFoxmoulder is known for their intense live shows. Their songs are dripping with emotion. They play with conviction and emotion, but also tend to joke around in a self-satirical manner while being political at the same time. Confusing? Well, the music a whirlwind of parts, so the music fits the bill. You'll be surprised to hear that Foxmoulder only employs three instrumentalists and a vocalist, because there’s a lot of noise and chaos.
11pm - 5am: Safer At Night Showcase: Curses, Total Fitness, Cranks at Toldi ClubSafer At Night is a late-night music collective and label based in New York City.
The label is owned and operated by Curses, Cranks, and Total Fitness.

Kornel Halasz at TeslaSummer house at Tesla.garden with two of the most popular open-air heroes of the season. Come early, stay until late, and check out the ice-cold cocktails and new menu while you’re at it!Sunday

FessNeki at Akvárium Paint like your favorite famous painter, like Van Gogh, Klimt, or Monet, and discover the creativity inherent in you! The FessNeki team is putting on a special summer event. FessNeki is about having fun and freely creating art as a member of a community. Don’t forget to register!8pm: Budapest Bár at Városmajor Open-air StageExcellent band, fantastic singers, and great songs – we can now say that Budapest Bár has changed our opinion about how a Gypsy-music band sounds! Budapest Bár was founded and is led by Róbert Farkas. His original intention was to give new momentum to the old-eim coffeehouse Gypsy-music genre. Ages, cultures, and generations meet in the production – perhaps that’s why the band is loved by young and old people alike. Lately, the band has reached increasingly into recent emblematic rock and pop hits. They’ve reworked Tom Waits, Simon and Garfunkel, Nick Cave, David Bowie, and even Depeche Mode songs.
