Noon: Czech Beer Festival at Szabadság Square The eighth Czech Beer Festival is happening between June 24th and July 5th, offering genuine specialties that we can rarely find at Hungarian events. These include the beers of microbreweries like Purkmistr, Kout, Brevnov, Kocour, and Sveti Norbert. Bottoms up!
6pm - 8.30pm: Classical Indian Film Festival 2015: Kabuliwala at Puskin CinemaKabuliwala is a 1961 Hindi film based on a story written by Bengali writer Rabindranath Tagore. It was directed by Hemen Gupta, the private secretary to Subhas Chandra Bose, and went on to direct many films, including Taksaal and his tribute Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The film is a heartwarming story of a Pathan from Kabul, who comes to Calcutta (as it was then called) to earn money and befriends four-year-old Mini from a middle-class family, because she reminds him of his own daughter back home.
8pm: SlimUp Snacking Night at Erzsébet Square Don’t you hate it when you cannot hear the film properly because of someone else’s loud munching? This is out of the question at SlimUp Snacking Night, since the screening will feature the Oscar-winning silent film The Artist, while the audience can nibble away on SlimUp Snacks and Millet Pops. Arrive early, and enjoy the film and the co-mingled crunching!
10pm - 4am: Budapest Essentials & Bladerunnaz Present: Sub Focus, Dope D.O.D.
at Budapest Amusement Park Apart from collaborating with Example and the Pendulum, Sub Focus is known for his strong dynamic softened by silky vocals, highlighted by polished production. With tastefully handled beats, a subtle pop-ish tone, and euphoric waves, the music is a rich medley ideal for those who consider the EDM and the Prodigy way too popular, but think underground techno is suffocating.
Dope D.O.D. is a Dutch hip-hop crew that puts strong vocal lines on heavy aggressive beats.
10pm - 4am: Budapest Essentials Presents: Gold Panda, iamyank Live Band at AkváriumGold Panda is an electronic music producer, performer, and composer from the United Kingdom. His sound is characterized by esoteric, obscure samples, looped vocals, chilling ambient textures, emotive moments, and a certain kind of vibrancy. If you are a fan of electronic artists like The Field, Four Tet or Boards Of Canada, you surely don’t want to miss his show.Saturday
10am - 10pm: CityMatiné & Budapest Essentials Present: Cassy at Palatinus Bath The usual CityMatiné residents work together with Budapest Essentials to be even louder than ever. The next station of CityMatiné will be the park of Palatinus Bath again, with not only the usual performers, but also Polarize and Cassy. This could easily become the party of the summer!

3pm - 8pm: Karcosok Klubja at Corvintető Karcosok Klubja is a monthly organized workshop aiming to ensure the common chance for the representatives of scratch and turntablism culture to practice and develop. Those who already know turntablism or would like to get acquainted with this underground culture are also welcome. At every occasion workshops are organized for both beginner and advanced levels. Attendance of the the program is free. 6pm - 4am: Budapest Essentials Presents: Peter Kruder at Zwack Unicum FactoryBudapest Essentials is taking the term ‘industrial’ quite literally this time: they are bringing an old-school downtempo legend into Hungary’s most prestigious liquor factory!
Peter Kruder is a Vienna-based musician, producer and co-owner of the label G-Stone Recordings, together with longtime collaborator Richard Dorfmeister. As a duo, Kruder and Dorfmeister’s downbeat soundscapes and inventive continental trip-hop would become some of most celebrated electronic music of the late nineties and early noughties.

7pm - 8:30pm: Recirquel Contemporary Circus Company – Paris de Nuit at Palace Of ArtsThe company’s most recent show is a view into the secrets of Paris in the last century, inspired by the black-and-white photos that the world-famous Hungarian artist, Brassaï (born Gyula Halász), made in the cafés, brothels, and dark streets of the French capital. The production takes us to the city of love and light in the 1930s, where we get to know the secretive figures of the underworld, their desires and “forbidden” loves. Champagne, circus, live music, singing and dancing: a true variety show.
