The 20 new names added to the program, indicate that we can expect a strong lineup again at what is one of Europe's coolest festivals. Bringing rock and punk we can mention American Dropkick Murphys who meshes folklore and punk.
The German Beatsteaks and the Grammy winning Halestorm (whose new album is released this April) are also going to add to this year's summer party.
There'll be plenty of strong female voices too at the August festival. On the indie-electro front Marina and the Diamonds will bring her huge fan base, while the extravagant, Paloma Faith, and Belgian's favourite songstress, Selah Sue, whose new album arrives this March in time for the festival. Danish electro-pop singer MØ will return to Budapest for this year's Sziget, and if all this is not enough another Grammy winner Foxes will also make an appearance.
Of course, no festival would be complete without star DJs.
Knife Party (born out of Pendulum) will be bringing an awe-inspiring sound and light show along with its electro-house music. Swedish electronic music star Alesso and the Amsterdam DJ trio Yellow Claw are also on the ticket. Don't miss the French master of electro, techno and house Vitalic who we hope will bring some new stuff.
Local electro stars Miriam és Olivia Nervo will also be taking to the stage.
For those that prefer music with a bit more rhythm the Foals will be arriving straight from the UK. Bringing smooth guitar tunes will be Interpol, while The Maccabees represent for London's indie-alternative music scene. On the list we've also spotted Future Island with their synth-pop music. These guys hit the big time last year with their Seasons track. From Cologne in Germany there'll be Gentleman who'll be bringing dancehall-reggae, and from the Netherlands' rap scene we will welcome Typhoon whose album Lobi da Basi was hailed by Dutch music magazines.
As the icing on the cake there'll be SBTRKT
(pronounced:
subtract) who's a big player on the London club scene. For something more chilled there'll be Dotan whose six-piece band will enchant. Finally there's William Fitzsimmons who'll bring English folk and his brand of melodic and moody music.
