We all love to travel and soak in our destination's atmosphere. But, let’s be honest, traveling isn’t the same if we don’t share the experience with our friends on our social media channels. Showing off a bit is part of traveling,so don’t be shy, when you are in the Hungarian capital. We guide you to the best spots for photos in Budapest.

1. Fisherman’s BastionIt seems to be taken straight out of a fairy tale but Fisherman’s Bastion actually makes a great viewing terrace for a panoramic view of Budapest’s Danube River, the Parliament building and city's sweeping skyline. Located in Buda right next to the Buda Castle, it’s definitely got some of the best views in Budapest. The magical atmosphere is created by the world famous towers and arcs of the Bastion itself but also by the charm of the entire District I. The Fisherman’s Bastion is famous around the world and it’s the perfect place for a picture that will be the best addition to your Instagram or Facebook page.

2. St. Stephen’s Basilica rooftop This is the biggest church in Budapest and it is incredibly impressive and beautiful from the outside. In fact, in 2014 the St. Stephen's Basilica was named one of the most photographed spots in the world. There are loads of great places to take pictures of the hallowed edifice from the pedestrian areas around the building, and with a bit of effort you can get something really special in return. The Basilica's rooftop offers panoramic views of the whole city and for the sweeping vistas you’ll have to climb a few steps or take the elevator, however it is all worth the effort especially on a sunny day.

3. Hungarian Parliament Building
The Hungarian “House of the Nation” is the second largest parliament in Europe and it’s famous for its architectural style. The
Parliament

is an iconic symbol of the city and, truth be told, it’s definitely a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. The best pictures can be taken from the Buda side, on the bank of the river looking back across the Danube or from Kossuth Lajos Square, where the building is set.

4. Szécsényi Baths
This is an awesome place for a picture during winter, and it's even better if its marvellous settings

are draped in snow.

Budapest is widely known for its sizzling spas and those who want to capture the great atmosphere of these baths

should start taking photos at the Széchenyi Bath. A picture amid

snowfall

while you’re swimming outdoors in a thermal-heated

pool will

be one of your best holiday photos.

5. Szimpla Kert
If you’ve ever heard of Budapest, you’ve probably heard about Szimpla too! It’s a symbol of the city’s pulsating nightlife scene and ruin bar phenomenon. Those who enter are

amazed by its distinct interior design, eccentric style and charming atmosphere. A picture here is a must – and there’s loads inside you can use as props. When in Szimpla, make sure you check out the upper level

with the maze of

side rooms that once served as flats for

Budapest's residents. Our favourite is the transformed Trabant car, which were converted into a quirky chill zone, while fresh equipments

pop up time to

time.

6. CitadelThis massive fortress atop Gellért Hill offers panoramic views over Pest's skyline, the curving Danube and Elizabeth Bridge. A hike up here is a mini excursion in the Buda hills and along the path, several view points provide breathtaking vistas (and great photo topics) over the city's monumental sights.

Those who come to Citadel at night get a great view of the city's sparkling lights, while one of the best places in Budapest to watch the sun go down or rising above the horizon.

7. The Little Princess on the banks of the DanubeA picture at any time along the Danube is always nice, but this particular spot has a certain charm that can’t be found elsewhere. There’s a Little Princess sitting on the railings of Pest's Danube promenade, a statue created by László Márton, an award-winning local sculptor in 1972. The Little Princess is the perfect addition to a photo at sunset or at night, with the city lights of the Buda Castle and Chain Bridge in the background.

8. The Buda Castle As one of Budapest's postcard-superstar landmarks, the Buda Castle is a place for many snaps taken on its ground, while this massive edifice is camera-ready from pretty much any viewpoints. Urban dwellers can take some great shots from within the castle's walls, but a perfect panoramic view of the entire building can be captured from the Pest side of the Danube.

9. Chain Bridge
Among all of the bridges in Budapest, the Chain Bridge is probably the most revered with its two petrified lions guarding both ends and many lesser-known details decorating the upper parts of the arches, including the Hungarian Coat of Arms that is perched above a roaring lion's head, making the bridge one of Budapest's postcard superstars.

This statuesque span is stunning both day and night and it's indispensable amid any collection of Budapest photos.

10. Heroes’ SquareAs a highly admired monument of Budapest, Heroes’ Square deserves to be immortalized in your travel snaps. It’s located at the end of the famous Adrássy Avenue, and where the tree-shaded thoroughfare ends, this monumental plaza flanks the gateway of City Park. With its historic statue complex, representing venerated national leaders and Hungary's Seven Chieftains alongside the elegant pavement in front of the memorial, a few shots of the square shouldn't be missing from any holiday albums.
