Morning – start off strongWe can already do a lot at bedtime to make the next day a little more bearable: according to one of our colleagues, magnesium plus half a liter of water is the real winning combo, but this does not work for everyone. In this case, the morning can become rather ruthless, so we’d better start the day by taking a long shower and dragging ourselves out for some open-air therapy.
Even if the thought of it makes you queasy, the first and foremost thing we must do is have a big breakfast. For this, we recommend the breakfast places we have already tested and approved, offering a variety of great stomach-lining treats ranging from buttery croissants to full English breakfasts.

Afterwards, a good way to snap back into action is with some swimming – naturally, we do not mean swimming several kilometers, but rather paddling a few laps. We know that going to a pool sounds like a terrible ordeal while in this sorry state, but the cold water awakens and refreshes the body, and exercise breathes new life into a day we already gave up on. A perfect venue to submerge into is the Hajós Alfréd aquatic complex amid the relieving open space and fresh air of Margaret Island, but there are plenty of other options, as well.
Or, we can at least lounge in refreshing mineral waters at any of Budapest’s many thermal baths.
What we do not recommend, however, is the sauna. You might think that it helps with sweating out excess toxins, but in practice, it will just make you unbelievably sick (again). Only the Finnish can bear this kind of heat.

After swimming, something healthy and vitamin-rich can come in handy, like a freshly squeezed vegetable juice. The best place to obtain one at is Mahung Veganpub, under the auspices of Élesztő: here, we can tell the staff what we drank last night and how sick we feel, and they will prepare a personalized, freshly pressed health-cocktail for us, which will definitely have a positive impact on our upset metabolism. But you can try some other juice bars, as well.Lunchtime – soothe your stomachBy noon, we might start feeling like ourselves again. However, drinking can seriously mess up one’s stomach: there are people who experience a loss of appetite, while others binge eat. It is crazy. Either way, we need to eat, but it is not worth immediately straining our stomach with heavy foods – a nice soup is usually a better choice. A great ramen, a big bowl of pho, or any kind of takeaway soup does the job.

Later, we can move onto heavier foods, like a lángos with cabbage or sour cream – this is supposedly the perfect combination to soothe our devastated intestinal flora.Afternoon – relax and reconcile

Slowly, our body is almost completely emptied of excess chemicals, but we should still not start thinking about where to continue our mission in the evening. Going outdoors and breathing some fresh air can be much more rewarding – meanwhile, we can convince ourselves that spending a small fortune on drinks the night before was worth it. Try out the city's best picnic spots for some outdoor relaxation!Evening – start all over again

If we heed all the good advice and drank and ate correctly all day, by evening, there should be no trace of yesterday’s unpleasant feelings, and we can start all over again. By this time, we might have already convinced ourselves that a few rounds of shots cannot hurt. Since it is spring, it is best thinking of outdoor locations where we can lament the previous night’s happenings – or, if we are afraid of a surprise rain shower, we might consider places with both indoor and outdoor options.
