One of the rightly famed wine bars of District I is found in Corvin Square. Boratórium is a classic pub with paneled walls, lace tablecloths, and “Uncle Gabi” behind the bar - who has a good relationship with all the guests. At first glance we wouldn’t expect it but they have great wines straight from the producers, and a wide pálinka selection. The tavern has been operating for decades and even though it remained the same (or perhaps exactly because of this) it is really popular and has regular visitors. We would definitely recommend the sausages and blood sausages for hungry visitors but if you want something lighter they have bread and dripping, grilled sandwiches, and homemade cheese puffs thanks to Uncle Gabi’s wife.
