If you need a break, Budapest has dozens of air-conditioned cooling centres, including libraries, museums and community spaces, while 63 public drinking fountains and 747 public water taps are available across the city. You can also find the nearest refill point in the BudapestGO app, making it easy to top up your bottle before heading to the next event.

ÓBUDA WORLD MUSIC WEEK 2026
From 22 to 27 June, Kobuci Kert hosts the 2026 Óbuda World Music Week, a celebration of musical traditions from Hungary and beyond. Alongside Hungarian folk music, the programme highlights Balkan, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences through a diverse concert lineup. Performers include internationally acclaimed singer Natacha Atlas, former vocalist of Transglobal Underground, as well as Budapest Klezmer Band and Budapest Bár, who will perform alongside chief cantor László Fekete.

MEN I TRUST AT DÜRER KERT
Formed in 2014, Canadian trio Men I Trust has become known for its dreamy, hypnotic sound, blending elements of dream pop and indie music into a genre-defying style of its own. Their understated yet captivating live performances offer an intimate and immersive concert experience. After last performing in Hungary in 2022, the band returns with two new albums, Equus Asinus and Equus Caballus. The Equus Tour arrives at Dürer Kert on 26 June.
ITALIAN FOOD FESTIVAL AT GIULIA BUDAPEST
From 24 to 26 June, the garden of Giulia Budapest will be transformed by the flavours and atmosphere of Italy as it hosts the Italian Food Festival. Over the three-day event, visitors can enjoy authentic Italian dishes from Salve Pizza Napoletana, Fragola, Il Sogno Italiano and Lio Schiacciata. Italian wines, cocktails and plenty of Aperol will also be on offer, while live music and DJ sets from 7 pm each evening complete the dolce vita experience.

DÜRER KERT 5TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Five years ago, Dürer Kert found its new home in Újbuda, and to mark the anniversary, the beloved cultural venue is hosting a day-long celebration on 27 June in collaboration with a range of local cultural institutions and hospitality venues. The programme includes a record and merch fair, a cooking competition, a design market, workshops, music-focused discussions and even the Balatopoly board game. The day will also feature a performance of Puszták népe by the Sirokkó Collective. All events are free to attend.

BUDAPEST PRIDE COMMUNITY FESTIVAL 2026
The programme is as diverse as the LGBTQ+ community itself, featuring theatre performances, film screenings, sports events, historical talks, panel discussions, workshops, excursions, game nights, parties and guided city walks. As every year, the month-long festival culminates in the Budapest Pride March on 27 June, celebrating acceptance, diversity and freedom.

AFRICA SOUNDWAVE FESTIVAL AT BABEL KERT
From 23 to 27 June, the Africa Soundwave Festival takes over Babel Kert with a programme that spans everything from West African musical traditions to afrobeat, afro-pop and contemporary electronic sounds. The lineup includes Ogun Afrobeat, known for blending afrobeat with jazz and funk influences, as well as Senegalese ensemble Ibrahima Cissokho & Mandingue Foly.

A BIRTHDAY PROGRAMME SERIES IS COMING TO BORPATIKA
Between 25 and 28 June, Borpatika will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special programme series. Known for its retro atmosphere, the venue has been a local favourite since 1986 and recently entered a new chapter under new ownership. While preserving its long-standing character, the team is introducing fresh events and community-focused experiences to carry the spirit of the place forward.

EATS&BEATS: BARCELONA HEAT BRINGS MEDITERRANEAN BITES AND DRINKS TO FÉNY STREET MARKET
eats&beats is a new event series celebrating the flavours, atmosphere and culinary traditions of a different country with each edition. On 28 June, the spotlight turns to Spain as Fény Street Market fills with tapas, Mediterranean bites, vermouth and plenty of Barcelona-inspired charm.

DURAN DURAN AT THE PAPP LÁSZLÓ SPORTS ARENA
After a 14-year absence, legendary British pop-rock band Duran Duran returns to Budapest for a concert at the Papp László Budapest Sports Arena on 28 June. As part of the band's European summer tour, the show promises a journey through more than four decades of music from one of Britain's most influential acts.
