Friday, 17 July

KATSU SANDO POP-UP COMES TO FŐFOTÓ

On 17 and 18 July, Főfotó is hosting a two-night pop-up dedicated to one of Japan's most popular comfort foods: the katsu sando. Served from 6 pm to 10 pm, the menu focuses on the crispy, juicy Japanese sandwich that's quickly gaining fans in Budapest. After enjoying a sando, visitors can also claim 10% off one drink at Főfotó, making it an easy stop for a relaxed summer evening in the city.

KOLORÁDÓ FESTIVAL 2026

Kolorádó Festival returns between 15 and 19 July this year, with a fresh chapter, relocating to Káloz. Set in a larger, more diverse natural environment, the festival blends music, art and sustainability, with plans to revitalise the land and transform Zichy Castle into its new creative hub. Reimagining what a festival can be, Kolorádó aims to offer a more conscious, community-driven experience.

SIERRA DELTA DAYTIME SHIFT: A PICNIC PARTY AT THE HOUSE OF MUSIC HUNGARY

On 17 July, Sierra Delta returns to the House of Music Hungary with Daytime Shift, a free event that blends live music, DJ sets and a relaxed summer picnic. What began as Deli Soma's (Middlemist Red) studio project has evolved into a four-piece band, whose groove-driven sound draws on synth-pop, R&B and laid-back indie influences. The programme begins with an afternoon picnic on the Great Meadow before moving to the Open-Air Stage for a live concert followed by DJ sets, making it an ideal way to spend a summer day in City Park.

Saturday, 18 July

B MY LAKE 2026

From 16 to 18 July, the northern beach of Lake Velence hosts B my Lake, a three-day celebration of electronic music just half an hour from Budapest. The festival brings together international headliners, late-night techno sets and spectacular light shows in a stunning lakeside setting. This year's line-up features Paul Kalkbrenner, Amelie Lens, Deborah De Luca, Sven Väth, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati and Worakls, alongside many more artists across the weekend.

YÜME X PIZZA MŰVEK: FUSION DINNER AT YÜME

On 18 July, Yüme's rooftop will host a one-night-only fusion dinner in collaboration with Pizza Művek, where even Kőbányai beer will find an unexpected partner in oysters. For the evening, Martin Nádudvari's ramen kitchen joins forces with Márton Tagscherer's Budapest-style pizzas to create a limited-edition menu designed exclusively for the event. Expect inventive dishes that blend Asian flavours with Italian and Budapest-inspired influences in surprising and delicious ways.

GARMENT MARKET - MARKET AND PARTY AT MIXÁT UDVAR AND PALAZZO PERMANENS

On 18 July, Mixát Udvar hosts Garment Market, an all-day shopping event bringing together more than 40 vintage, Y2K and streetwear sellers alongside a selection of Hungarian brands. The daytime programme features DJ sets and interactive workshops where visitors can create their own accessories. As evening falls, the event moves into the concert hall with a Requiem techno-house warm-up set before continuing at Palazzo Permanens, where an afterparty with electronic music keeps the celebrations going until the early hours.

SUMMER RECORD FAIR AT ELTE GÖMB AULA

From vinyl records and CDs to cassettes, books, posters, magazines and music memorabilia, the Budapest Record Fair brings everything music lovers could hope to find under one roof. On 19 July, more than 100 vendors will fill two floors of the ELTE Gömb Aula, offering everything from rare collector's items to nostalgic favourites. Even if you're not planning to buy anything, it's the perfect place to browse, admire iconic album artwork and perhaps rediscover the soundtrack to your childhood. Admission is free.

MINI FESTIVAL AT ZSÁMBÉK SUMMER THEATRE

On 19 July, the Zsámbék Summer Theatre hosts a special mini festival in the garden of Zichy Castle. The evening begins with an intimate concert by the Platon Karataev Duo, followed by The Boy Who Turned into a Stag, a multimedia concert theatre production by Miklós H. Vecsei and the QJÚB collective. Drawing on the works of Ferenc Juhász, as well as the poetry of Sándor Csoóri, János Pilinszky and Miklós Radnóti, the performance weaves together music, literature and theatre for a memorable summer evening.
