FRESH COCKEREL ANIMATION FILM DAYS 2026
Organised for the fourth time by the teams behind MOME Anim and Friss Hús, the Fresh Cockerel Animation Film Days take place at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design's Zugliget campus and Toldi Cinema on 16–17 January. The programme centres on the premiere screenings of graduation films by students who completed their studies in 2025, alongside professional talks, portfolio consultations, animation premieres, a Ferenc Sajdik retrospective, a comics marathon, the traditional Grafix fair and a range of accompanying events for animation enthusiasts.

ICE RINKS NIGHT 2026
On 17 January, more than twenty ice rinks across Hungary will welcome those in the mood for skating and partying alike. The Night of Ice Rinks will be held for the ninth time this year, with an ever-growing number of venues joining the initiative beyond Budapest as well. In the capital, skaters can hit the ice at several locations, including City Park Ice Rink, and in Óbuda. The programme promises a range of special experiences, from night skating and live DJ sets to ice-themed skill games.

MONYO BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Founded in 2014 by Ádám Pein and Anti Németh in Kőbánya, MONYO Brewing was among the first new-wave breweries in Hungary, and has since become known for its collaborations, state-of-the-art brewing facility and international presence across four continents. The brewery celebrates its 11th birthday on 17 January at the MONYO Taproom with an all-day programme featuring DJ sets, brewery tours, food from Rusty Rack, a beer premiere and special beer offers. Entry is free, but registration is required.

WARDROBE REDESIGNED – WITH OTP BANK AT JO&JOE BUDAPEST
On 17 January, JO&JOE Budapest hosts the OTP Wardrobe Sale, bringing together conscious fashion, community vibes and creative programmes for a full day. Well-known and up-and-coming content creators will be selling pre-loved pieces — including Dorottya Kovács, Fanni Almási, Panni Erdei and Nátán Vértes — with the programme kicking off with a group run, followed by the market and a series of workshops. ICE DISCO AT BUDAPEST PARK’S KORIPARK
On 18 January, skating at Budapest Park gets an extra twist with a series of ice disco sessions at KoriPark. From afternoon into the evening, DJ Thomas sets the rhythm for gliding across the ice, turning the rink into a full-on party on skates. What makes the event even more fun is that skaters can shape the soundtrack themselves by requesting songs, claiming the spotlight for a track or two on the 2,200-square-metre ice rink, sparkling under strings of lights and perfect for showing off your best moves.
