Friday, 12 September

artKRAFT OPENING

After 17 years in business dealing in retro and industrial furniture and accessories, artKRAFT has moved to a new home this summer — a spacious hall on the former Kemikál factory site in District IX. To celebrate, an opening event on 12 September will see the exterior walls brought to life by graffiti and street art artists. Running from morning to evening and free to attend, the day will also feature craft beers and kombucha from Fehér Nyúl Brewery, freshly grilled burgers from Che Che Burger, and music provided by mûltïphocål and kisjanko.

BUDAPEST WINE FESTIVAL

One of Hungary's most iconic events, the Budapest Wine Festival, returns this autumn to celebrate wine, elegance, and gastronomy – and you're invited. For over 30 years, this beloved festival has brought people together in the historic setting of Buda Castle, offering a unique mix of tradition, culture, and flavours.

From 11 to 14 September, raise a glass to the end of summer while soaking up panoramic views of the Danube, sampling world-class wines, and enjoying great company.

JÓZSEFVÁROS JAZZ FESTIVAL

For the fifth time, the Józsefváros Jazz Festivalinvites audiences to gather in the heart of the district, filling Rákóczi Square and the Market Hall with music, life and community. In keeping with the character of the venues, the programme is as diverse as jazz itself: from 12–14 September, two stages will showcase both classic and experimental directions of the genre. Saturday, 13 September

DANCE HOUSE NIGHT 

On 13 September, the 36th Night of Dance Houses – the National Season-Opening Dance House Celebration takes place at Fonó Budai Zeneház. The new season kicks off with interactive family-friendly programmes in the afternoon, followed by lively dance houses lasting until dawn, all accompanied by an impressive line-up of bands. The event is part of the FONÓ30 anniversary series.

SECRET MARKET AT SZÉCHENYI BATH

One of Budapest's most iconic landmarks sets the stage for something truly special: on 13 September, the Marble Hall of the Széchenyi Bath will host the very first Secret Market. Here, design, craftsmanship, and fashion come together in a carefully curated selection. Visitors can browse the works of both Hungarian and international designers, with a range that includes unique jewellery, clothing, bags, natural cosmetics, and even luxury accessories inspired by the bathing experience.

AUTUMN GARAGE SALE FESTIVAL IN WEKERLE

This autumn, the gates of Wekerle open once again: on 13 September the neighbourhood hosts the 21st Wekerle Garage Sale Festival, inviting visitors to browse at leisure, chat with locals and uncover hidden treasures. Children's clothes, toys, books, household items, retro finds, bikes, furniture and collector's pieces — everything that once mattered to someone is now looking for a new home. And it's not only about the stalls: cosy picnic spots with blankets, raspberry cordial and lángos stands, plus children's activities and colouring tables, all add to the relaxed, community feel.

COOKIES & FLOWERS POP-UP

On 13 September, sweet treats and seasonal blooms come together for a charming Cookies & Flowers Pop-Up at Miniakadémia & Lenzi Studio. From 10 am to 3 pm, the Cookie Lovers Club will tempt you with their gooey, irresistible bakes, while Funkycat Flowers fills the space with autumnal bouquets to take home or gift. SÓLET FESTIVAL 2025

One of the highlights of the Week of Synagogues series is the Sólet Festival, taking place this year on 14 September in the heart of Budapest at Városháza Park. Now in its 9th edition, this gastronomic celebration not only showcases one of the most beloved dishes of Jewish cuisine in a variety of flavours, but also offers a community experience and a chance to learn more about Jewish culture.

INSTANT MECENATÚRA FESTIVAL 2025

From 11–14 September, the Instant Mecenatúra Festival returns for the second time. This community-based fundraising theatre festival aims to showcase the diverse independent theatre scene of Erzsébetváros. Taking place at Gólem Theatre and Robot, the programme includes performances, concerts, discussions and even a quiz.

KRAFT BEER FESTIVAL

Kraft Beer Festival is back from 11–14 September, taking over Dürer Kert with the freshest and most exciting brews from both local and international breweries and beer shops. The goal? To showcase the diversity of craft beer culture – whether you're new to tasting or a seasoned sipper, you'll find plenty to love. Alongside the foamy fun, expect live concerts, DJ sets, and tasty street food to keep the vibes going. Entry is free, but you'll need a festival glass and tokens to join the tasting.

POV BUDAPEST

This year, POV Budapest invites all lovers of visual culture for an inspiring weekend packed with talks, workshops, and creative energy. On September 11–12, the National Dance Theatre will host international speakers, panel discussions and hands-on sessions — including a keynote by OpenAI, the company behind the world-famous ChatGPT.

Hungary's most exciting designers and studios will also take the spotlight on a free-access side stage throughout the weekend. The programme continues on September 13–14, when the focus shifts to various locations across the city with open house tours, guided design walks, exhibitions, a designer fair, and even a closing party.
