VÉNÉGY FESTIVAL AND THEATRE MEETING 2025

Taking place between 2–5 July , the 12th edition of the VéNégy Festival and Theatre Meeting brings a colorful international line-up and more than forty musical acts to the scenic setting of the Danube Bend. This year's musical programme spans everything from top Hungarian headliners to rising talents and key names from the ambient electronic scene. What makes VéNégy truly unique is its diverse mix of culture and recreation: alongside the concerts, guests can enjoy international theater performances, canoe tours, sports programs, VR experiences, and street theater – all set against the magical backdrop of the Danube Bend.
DUNA PART FESTIVAL

From 3–5 July, the Duna-part Fest returns to the scenic banks of the Danube in Ráckeve, just a short trip from Budapest. Set in the charming park in front of the Savoy Castle, the festival blends live music with a laid-back riverside atmosphere. Expect three days of great music, summer energy, and one of the prettiest festival settings in the region.
EDGE ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL BUDAPEST

Held at Dürer Kert, theEDGE Architecture Festival Budapest (EDGE Fest) is Hungary's first international architecture festival, taking place on 3–4 July. The event aims to spotlight forward-thinking, progressive architectural themes in both global and regional contexts. The two-day festival features a professional conference, architecture and design competitions, community activities, an art exhibition, and an awards ceremony.

ADOPTION DAY AT PÁNTLIKA

On 5 July, Pántlika in City Park will turn into a haven for dog lovers with a heartwarming Adoption & Support Day. Expect a tail-wagging lineup of adorable dogs looking for forever homes, enthusiastic future pet parents, and even a bit of shopping.Participation requires registration, and once signed up, you can purchase a supporter voucher that’s redeemable either at the venue or in their webshop.
KOLORÁDÓ FESTIVÁL

From 2 to 5 July, Kolorádó Festivalonce again brings music and life to the lush surroundings of the Sztrilich Pál Scout Park. Nestled in the hills and forests near Budapest, this offbeat gathering has been a staple of the capital’s summer scene since 2016.
Expect a colourful mix of experiences this year too — from high-energy concerts to peaceful moments of retreat, and everything in between. Kolorádó is not just a festival — it’s an escape into nature, creativity, and community just beyond the city’s edge.
VINTAGE NIGHT MARKET AND JEWELLERY FAIR AT HENGERMALOM

On July 5, Hengermalom hosts a Vintage Night Market and Jewellery Fair with a special focus on accessories, handmade jewellery and unique finds. Alongside the usual retro and vintage treasures, this community flea market invites anyone to become a vendor — whether you're selling jewellery, home decor or stylish second-hand gems. Expect summer drinks, homemade treats, and a selection of beautiful vintage, mid-century, folk and antique furniture to browse through as well.

GLAM PICNIC

Budapest’s unique summer programme, Glam Picnic, returns for the fourth time this year. Crowne Plaza Budapest, will transform its rooftop garden into a stylish brunch haven on summer weekends — complete with a Bányai Speciality Coffee Concept pop-up, buffet and à la carte breakfast, and beautifully designed picnic islands. Running every weekenduntil 31 August, Glam Picnic offers the perfect blend of laid-back luxury, vibrant flavours, and scenic rooftop vibes — a must-visit summer experience in the city.

RUNCHITECT – GUIDED RUN IN CITY PARK

On 5 July, a unique running event takes place in Budapest’s City Park. Organised by the Bánáti + Hartvig Architecture Studio, the Runchitect programme combines a 4–5 km run with an architectural discovery tour. Participants will explore iconic sites in the park—such as the Museum of Ethnography and the House of Music Hungary—guided by architectural experts.
The run starts and ends at the House of Millennium, where refreshments await at the finish line. Held as part of the EDGE Festival, the event is free to attend but requires prior registration.

STROLL & CHILL: PEDESTRIAN RIVERBANK

Sundays along the Jane Haining Embankment feel like a gentle exhale. With the road closed to cars for the weekend, the riverside becomes a peaceful haven for walkers, cyclists, roller skaters, and café-hoppers alike. It's the perfect excuse to slow down, take in the views of Gellért Hill and the bridges, and maybe pause for an iced drink at Viadukt Terasz, one of the area's most charming riverside hangouts. Bring a book, a camera, or a friend—and let the Danube set the pace.
DANUBE CRUISE & BUDA CASTLE WANDERS

If you're after something a little more scenic, treat yourself to a classic Danube cruise. Whether it's a guided tour or just a breezy ride between the bridges, the view of the Parliament, Castle Hill, and historic riverfront buildings never gets old. After docking, continue your day with a meandering walk through the cobbled streets of the Buda Castle District. With its panoramic terraces, quiet courtyards, and hidden cafés, it's an ideal way to soak up the city's charm without following a strict itinerary.
SUNDAY BRUNCH

A relaxed Sunday morning calls for a leisurely brunch—and norma/grand is one of the city’s most charming spots to do just that. Located in District II, just a short walk from Mammut shopping centre, this stylish villa café boasts a sun-drenched terrace that feels like a peaceful retreat in the heart of Buda. From 3–6 July, this open-air cinema transforms the park into a film-lover's paradise with a mix of cult favourites and feel-good classics. All films are shown in their original language with Hungarian subtitles, except where otherwise indicated. Grab some popcorn, find your spot on a picnic blanket or deck chair, and enjoy a film under the open sky.
