NIGHT OF THE ZOOS 2026
On 28 August, Night of the Zoos returns, with 13 institutions across Hungary taking part this year. This edition focuses on facts and misconceptions about the animal kingdom, with participating zoos and wildlife parks helping visitors separate fact from fiction through spectacular demonstrations, fascinating talks and interactive activities. Among the participating venues are Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden, Pákozdi Pagony, Budakeszi Wildlife Park and Veresegyháza Bear Farm.

BAKÁTS FESTIVAL 2026
From 28 to 30 August, Bakáts Square once again becomes the cultural heart of Ferencváros as the 11th Bakáts Festival returns with three days of community celebrations. Visitors can look forward to a vibrant programme of exhibitions, performances, live music, workshops and family-friendly activities, alongside opportunities to discover the district's rich cultural heritage, local communities and creative spirit in one of Budapest's most atmospheric public squares.

YOU!FEST 2026
Between 28 and 30 August, TE! Festival, Terézváros's multidisciplinary arts festival, returns to Andrássy Avenue for its sixth edition. The three-day event brings together concerts, theatre and dance performances, family activities, sports sessions, workshops and local organisations. The line-up includes Magashegyi Underground, Lóci Játszik, Hot Jazz Band, Los Orangutanes and Tamás Molnár, alongside children's concerts, performances and plenty of interactive activities. BALTAZÁR WINE FESTIVAL 2026
On 29 August, the terrace of Baltazár Budapest in Buda Castle sets the scene for the Baltazár Wine Festival, bringing together some of Hungary's most renowned wineries for a relaxed afternoon and evening of tastings. Visitors will have the chance to sample wines from producers including Sauska, Etyeki Kúria, Kreinbacher Estate, St. Andrea and Zelna Winery, while meeting the winemakers behind the labels. To complement the wines, the restaurant has created a special festival menu alongside its regular à la carte selection, while DJ sets provide the soundtrack throughout the day. The festival is split into daytime and evening sessions, each requiring a separate ticket. Admission includes unlimited wine tastings, with the first 75 tickets available at a special super early-bird price.
BARTÓK FESZT' 202 6
Bartók Feszt' returns to Bartók Béla Boulevard for a day of music, community and culture. This year's festival shines a light on the people, organisations and local initiatives that help keep the neighbourhood running, with more than 40 community groups and organisations hosting activities throughout the day.

GENERALI NIGHT RUN 2026
On 29 August, the Generali Night Run returns for its 12th edition, giving runners the chance to explore Budapest after dark. Starting and finishing on the embankment outside Budapest University of Technology and Economics, participants can choose from four distances, with routes taking in landmarks including Széchenyi Chain Bridge, the Buda Castle Tunnel and Buda Castle. Along the way, music and visual installations add to the atmosphere. On 30 August, the event continues with a half marathon, which can also be completed as a relay. Registration is required in advance, with places limited to 5,000 participants.

CHOLENT FESTIVAL 2026
On 30 August, the Cholent Festival returns to City Hall Park for its 10th edition. This year, visitors can try four different takes on the traditional Jewish dish: Israeli, Hungarian, street-food style and a limited-edition Hegyalja version. Just 300 portions of the latter will be available, served in special packaging and accompanied by a traditional Jewish sweet. The anniversary edition will also feature DJ Lior, arriving from Israel, treats from Brooklyn Bagel, refreshing cocktails and face painting.

ETYEK BLANC X FŰZY GÁBOR - DINNER AT SONKAMESTER IN ETYEK
On 30 August, Etyek bids farewell to summer with a special evening at Sonkamester, where a candlelit dinner, guests dressed in white and Italian bubbles come together beneath the walnut trees. Inspired by the Dîner en Blanc events, the evening puts a distinctly local spin on the concept, with the setting and flavours of Etyek taking centre stage. Dinner will be prepared by László Árpás, the Sonkamester, with music by Gábor Fűzy and prosecco filling the glasses. The evening's special guest will be Nicola Menin, expert from Prosecco Journey.
