KATLAN FESTIVAL

This year, Katlan Festival is back with a thrilling twist. Instead of its usual home at the Tárnok Quarry, the three-day event will take place at the Arzenál — a former weapons factory transformed into a raw, industrial wonderland. BÁNKITÓ FESTIVAL

This summer marks the final edition of Bánkitó Festival, the much-loved alternative gathering that's been shaking up Hungary's cultural scene for the past 16 years. Taking place between 9–13 July, this last hurrah invites festival-goers to step beyond the grind of everyday life and imagine new social constructs — all through the lens of art, music, and community.Set against the tranquil backdrop of Lake Bánk, the festival stays true to its progressive roots with a rich mix of contemporary music, theatre, and visual art. The music lineup features fan favourites like Csaknekedkislány, Carson Coma, and 30Y, as well as rising stars like Co Lee and Sisi.

HABA JUICE BAR OPENING WEEKEND

On 11–12 July, HABA Juice Bar kicks off its opening weekend with fresh juices, grilled sandwiches, signature cocktails, and laid-back community vibes. By day, the new spot serves breakfast and coffee; by night, it transforms into a cosy hangout with drinks and tapas. Alongside the food and music—curated by Third 2hift, D'Illegal, and Nikka—guests can browse HABA's own merch and discover pieces from local designers, ceramic artists, and creatives.

ZENOBIA BRUNCH WEEKEND

On 12 and 13 July, Zenobia invites you to rethink your weekend brunch plans. Forget the usual croissants—here, it's all about flavour-packed mezze platters, rich dips, and hands-on bites, served to the sounds of atmospheric electronic music laced with Eastern motifs. This daytime brunch party blends laid-back vibes with the best of Lebanese and Syrian cuisine, all set to a special DJ set by Egyptian-born producer Loai Shaker (AzAz).

NIGHT OF THE GLIDERS

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Libegők Éjszakája (Chairlift Night), taking place on Saturday, 12 July. As in previous years, visitors can enjoy evening chairlift rides not only in the Buda Hills but also across Hungary's scenic mountain ranges, including the Mátra, Bükk, and Zemplén.

Participating locations include the Zugliget Chairlift in Budapest, the Lillafüred Chairlift Park, the Sástó Oxygen Adrenalin Park, and the Zemplén Adventure Park in Sátoraljaújhely. For this special jubilee edition, the chairlifts will run late into the evening, offering magical rides at sunset and stunning views over the illuminated cities below.

OPEN WATER TOURNAMENT 2025 – Danube Crossing from Szentendre to Lupa Island

This year marks the fifth edition of the Hungarian Open Water Swimming Championship, aiming to introduce participants to Hungary's stunning landscapes through swimming. On 12 July, both amateur and professional swimmers will once again have a unique opportunity: starting from the Postás Beach in Szentendre, they'll swim across the Danube in a downstream direction. After completing the 5.29-kilometre distance, the hundreds of athletes will reach the shore near the Ebihal snack bar, opposite Lupa Island. The event promises to be a true celebration of swimming, as the current will help even those who simply want to float and enjoy the view reach the finish line in under an hour in the 23°C water.

TETØ ROOFTOP MARKET

For one day only, the rooftop of Mammut Shopping Centre, TETØ, will be filled with exciting creatives, fresh brands, and inspiring design. On 13 July, a slow design pop-up fair takes over the terrace, showcasing the latest collections and limited-edition pieces from 11 handpicked exhibitors. Expect to see names like bl.unka, LEANEA, Budai Lotte, zpconcept, Symposion Publishing, and Pleasure is pretty is. The stylish atmosphere will be enhanced by laid-back musical vibes throughout the day.

BRUNCH & PILATES IN THE GARDEN OF PASARET BISTRO

On 13 July, Pasarét Bisztró invites guests to a morning of full-body and soul nourishment. The session begins with 50 minutes of mat pilates followed by a 20-minute stretch, all set in the bistro's newly designed green garden. The class is led by Fanni Bora, who brings 25 years of dance experience into a focused, slow-paced and mindful pilates flow. DANCING PLAGUE - A SUNDAY SUNDOWN RAVE AT PONTOON

On July 13, Pontoon hosts Dancing Plague —blending summer vibes with an all-day sonic journey through house, hardhouse, hardgroove, trance, techno, and electro. Inspired by the curious 1518 Strasbourg dancing mania, this modern-day version is all about joyful movement and collective release.

Part of the Sunday Sundown series, this free open-air event invites you to wrap up your week with a dance floor session set against one of the city's most iconic backdrops: the Buda Castle and Chain Bridge glowing in the sunset.
