This summer marks the final edition of Bánkitó Festival, the much-loved alternative gathering that’s been shaking up Hungary’s cultural scene for the past 16 years. Taking place between 9–13 July, this last hurrah invites festival-goers to step beyond the grind of everyday life and imagine new social constructs — all through the lens of art, music, and community.
Set against the tranquil backdrop of Lake Bánk, the festival stays true to its progressive roots with a rich mix of contemporary music, theatre, and visual art. The music lineup features fan favourites like Csaknekedkislány, Carson Coma, and 30Y, as well as rising stars like Co Lee and Sisi.
Beyond the stages, Bánkitó continues its tradition of tackling social, political, and civil issues, offering thought-provoking panels, workshops, and performances that aim to inspire a more open, inclusive, and just society.
