City Park Ice Rink
No winter in Budapest feels complete without a visit to City Park Ice Rink. With Vajdahunyad Castle illuminated behind you and a vast stretch of ice at your feet, this is the city's most iconic skating spot — and one of Europe's oldest outdoor rinks. It's perfect for skaters who want space to move, whether you're practising proper laps or simply gliding hand-in-hand. Weekday evenings are magical here, and noticeably quieter than weekends.

Városháza Park Ice Rink
Right beside Deák Ferenc tér, Városháza Park transforms into a charming festive corner each winter. The rink is small and welcoming, surrounded by Christmas stalls, cafés and the twinkling lights of Fashion Street. It’s the perfect spot for a spontaneous skate — an easy add-on to a day of holiday shopping or a warm drink with friends. It's a smaller version of the Csepel Ice Rink, with the same charming LED light strings, and even the ice corridor is there.
Budapest Park Ice Rink
This winter, Budapest Park transforms once again, and from 28 November it turns into a frozen wonderland: this is when KoriPark opens, welcoming visitors with a larger-than-ever ice surface of around 2,000 square metres, open until 1 February. The Park’s well-known festival atmosphere gets a winter makeover, complete with lights, music, and the impressive sight of a huge sheet of ice. Great attention is paid to the quality of the ice — a resurfacing machine regularly smooths the rink, during which skating pauses, offering the perfect moment to rest and enjoy a hot drink.

Both rinks are open daily, with long hours that make it easy to pop in for a morning glide or an evening session. Skate rental is available on site for HUF 2,000, assistance penguins can be hired for HUF 2,000/30 minutes, and changing facilities are free of charge. It’s a welcoming, local winter spot perfect for families, beginners and anyone looking to enjoy the season without the crowds or the cost.

The rink welcomes visitors every day from 8 am to 9 pm until 28 February, with special opening hours on public holidays. Csepel residents can skate with a 40% discount, for HUF 1,500, while all other visitors can enter for HUF 2,500. Skate rental and skate sharpening are available on site for HUF 2,000 each.
Hello Buda
Hello Buda kicks off the season on 29 November, transforming the space into a full-day winter celebration from 11 am to 10 pm as the ice rink officially opens. Music will be playing throughout the day, with a DJ setting the rhythm while visitors enjoy steaming tea or mulled wine in a cosy hütte-style atmosphere. The rink welcomes all ages, making it a perfect family-friendly outing — little ones, teens and adults can all join the fun.
